Introduction to the Ghostwire Tokyo Trophy Journey
Welcome to the definitive Ghostwire Tokyo Trophy Guide, your roadmap to conquering Shibuya and securing that coveted platinum trophy! Developed by Tango Gameworks, the creators of The Evil Within, Ghostwire Tokyo plunges players into a captivating open-world rendition of Tokyo’s Shibuya district, now haunted by supernatural Visitors. This guide will lead you through every step required to achieve 100% trophy completion, which essentially means experiencing all the rich content the game has to offer. This includes collecting a vast array of items, reaching the pinnacle of character progression, tackling all side missions, and ensuring every spirit in Shibuya finds salvation.
Fortunately for trophy hunters, Ghostwire Tokyo is designed with completion in mind. The game provides numerous user-friendly tools to aid your journey. In-game tracking systems are available for most collectibles, and you’ll gain access to abilities and prayer beads that significantly simplify the process of locating and gathering spirits and other items.
A key piece of good news for completionists is that no trophies are missable in Ghostwire Tokyo. You can explore and progress at your own pace without fear of locking yourself out of any achievements. Furthermore, post-game free roam is available. While there is a point of no return at the conclusion of Chapter 4, the game conveniently reverts you to just before this point after you finish the main story. This ensures you can seamlessly continue your exploration and mop up any remaining collectibles or trophies in the spectral streets of Shibuya.
Step-by-Step Roadmap to Platinum in Ghostwire Tokyo
This Ghostwire Tokyo trophy roadmap is designed to guide you efficiently towards the platinum trophy. It breaks down the journey into manageable steps, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience while maximizing your trophy gains.
Step 1: Initial Story Playthrough and Organic Collection
Your first step is to immerse yourself in the enthralling narrative of Ghostwire Tokyo. Play through the main story chapters, enjoying the atmospheric world and engaging combat system. As you progress, make it a habit to collect any items and complete any side content that you naturally encounter. Ghostwire Tokyo is generous in displaying various activities and collectibles on your map. These icons remain visible even after collection, making it exceptionally easy to track your progress and identify anything you might have missed. This intuitive design supports a playstyle where you can efficiently gather items and complete objectives as you explore, minimizing backtracking later.
During your initial playthrough, it’s highly recommended to periodically fast travel to the Shibuya Scramble Crossing landmark. This strategic location increases your chances of encountering a Hyakki Yako event along the northern road. These events are crucial for spirit collection and trophy completion. A Hyakki Yako event is easily recognizable by a distinctive parade of enemies shrouded in a dense fog. Approaching this parade will teleport you to a combat arena. These events are known to occur randomly on major roads throughout Shibuya and can become a time-consuming grind if left until the very end. Actively seeking them out during your story playthrough will significantly reduce potential grinding later on.
Another important enemy type to watch out for during your initial exploration are the Forlorn and Forsaken Visitors. Defeating these specific enemy types is necessary for the Visiting Hours Are Over trophy . These are child-like Visitors clad in yellow (Forlorn) and red (Forsaken) raincoats. They are skittish and will attempt to flee when you approach. While they do respawn, their respawn rate can be lengthy, sometimes taking several hours. Eliminating them on sight is advisable to prevent potential delays later in your trophy hunting. For detailed information on their spawn locations and appearances, refer to the dedicated guide: Ghostwire Tokyo All Visitors (Enemy Types).
While Ghostwire Tokyo does feature a point of no return near the end of Chapter 4, rest assured that the game will revert you to before this point once the main story is concluded. This allows you to tackle all remaining content at your leisure. If you prefer, you could even choose to complete all side content and collectible hunting before finishing the main story. However, completing the game first unlocks a set of invaluable Prayer Beads that greatly assist with spirit transferring, making the post-game cleanup phase more efficient. The final two chapters of the game are relatively short, taking around 30 minutes to complete, making the benefits of unlocking these beads well worth the small time investment.

Step 2: Comprehensive Cleanup – Spirits, Side Missions, and Collectibles
After completing the main story, it’s time to embark on the comprehensive cleanup phase. This stage involves tackling all the content necessary for 100% completion and the platinum trophy. Your objectives for this step include: transferring all spirits, completing all side missions, cleansing all Torii Gates, discovering all Landmarks, defeating all Visitor types (if not already done), and collecting all Relics, KK Investigation Notes, Magatamas, Voice Logs, Jizo Statues, Missing Tanuki, Food and Drink items, Music Tracks, Outfits, and Prayer Beads.
The order in which you tackle these tasks is entirely up to your preference and playstyle. You might choose to focus on one type of collectible at a time, systematically clearing each category from your list. Alternatively, you could opt for a more organic approach, moving around the map region by region and completing everything available in each area as you go.
Regarding spirit collection, you have two primary approaches. You can either collect spirits gradually as you complete other content, transferring them periodically, or you can prioritize collecting all spirits immediately. Completing the game once and then replaying Chapters 5 and 6 with 100% spirit transfer unlocks the Tireless Beads and Shadow Beads. These powerful beads grant unlimited SP/Talismans/Arrows and near-invisibility, respectively, making the cleanup process significantly easier, especially for combat-related miscellaneous trophies.
Step 3: Replay Chapters 5 & 6 with 100% Spirits Transferred and Final Trophy Cleanup
Once you have diligently transferred 100% of the spirits in Shibuya, the next step is to replay Chapters 5 and 6 of the main story. Completing these chapters again with all spirits saved will unlock the Hero of Shibuya trophy .
With the powerful Tireless Beads and Shadow Beads now at your disposal, this is the ideal time to address any remaining miscellaneous or combat-related trophies you may still be missing. The unlimited resources and near-invisibility provided by these beads will make even the most challenging combat trophies significantly easier to obtain. This final step ensures you’ve ticked every box on your Ghostwire Tokyo trophy checklist and are ready to claim your platinum!
Essential Tips, Tricks, and Guides for Trophy Hunters
To further aid your journey to platinum, here are some useful tips, tricks, and links to detailed guides:
- Spirit Perception is Key: Invest in abilities and prayer beads that enhance spirit perception. The Spirit Perception Beads II are particularly invaluable, as they highlight spirits within a 200m radius and guide you to their location with a blue light.
- Maximize Spirit Absorption Efficiency: Unlock abilities like Spirit Absorption – Speed Boost II to drastically reduce spirit absorption time.
- Rooftop Access is Crucial: The Grapple – Summon Tengu ability is highly recommended. It allows you to summon Tengu on rooftops, providing easy access to elevated areas where many spirits and collectibles are located.
- Efficient Traversal: Upgrade Glide – Duration Boost III to extend your glide time, making rooftop-to-rooftop movement faster and more convenient.
- Utilize Prayer Bead Slots: The Extra Set III Prayer Beads ability allows you to equip three prayer beads simultaneously, maximizing your passive bonuses. Combine Spirit Perception Beads II with Transmission Beads (for automatic spirit transfer) and Incognito Beads (for reduced enemy detection) for optimal exploration.
- Hyakki Yako Farming: Fast travel to Shibuya Scramble Crossing and patrol the northern roads to trigger Hyakki Yako events. Listen for bells and drums, which indicate an event is nearby.
- Containment Cube Defense: Be vigilant for Containment Cube events (green search areas on the map). Defend these cubes to earn substantial spirit rewards. Save your game when you encounter these events as a precaution.
- Meika Management: While Meika (in-game currency) is plentiful, be mindful of spending. Purchasing Katashiro and certain talismans can deplete your funds. Prioritize essential purchases like Katashiro upgrades and useful talismans.
- Relic-Hunting Nekomatas: Utilize Relic-Hunting Nekomatas to track relic locations and acquire music tracks and outfits. Completing their requests is also a good source of Meika and other rewards.

Spirits are spread all across the city of Shibuya, and these are a form of collectible. They appear as blue floating silhouettes which can be absorbed by holding for information on Katashiro). Overall there are 240,300 Spirits for you to absorb throughout the game, and these come from regular exploration both around Shibuya and Shibuya Underground, destroying corruption trees, rewards from Side Missions, from protecting Containment Cubes which spawn randomly, and rewards from completing Hyakki Yako events. Spirits can be seen easier by using Spectral Vision with , and then grapple to it with ). Unlike Spirits, Corruption Trees do not appear as a blue outline so without Spirit Perception Beads II these can be very easy to miss in an area. Containment Cubes: Containment Cubes are random events that occur in the open world, where several cubes will appear on the map (indicated by a green search area similar to Side Missions), and Visitors will try to destroy them. You must defend these Containment Cubes from the Visitors. Upon successfully defending them, you will be able to absorb the spirits they contain. Initially there will be 5,000 Spirits for these, and eventually 10,000 as you open the rest of the map. It is currently unknown whether these are missable, as it has not been tested whether letting a Containment Cube get destroyed means you cannot get those spirits, or if they just continue spawning in the world until you reach the limit. Due to the nature of the game it is assumed they are not missable and will continue spawning, but as a precaution it is recommended to save whenever you see a Containment Cube event spawn to make sure you defend them all. Hyakki Yako: Hyakki Yako are another random event that can occur in the open world. These are a parade of Visitors that can appear (they will be walking in a cloud of fog), and going near this will take you into an arena where you will have to defeat several waves of Visitors. Initially there will be 10,000 Spirits for these, and eventually 15,000 as you open the rest of the map. These parades can appear on major roads (most notably at Shibuya Scramble Crossing, and the roads next to Sakano Shrine, Mikubo Shrine and Namihara Shrine). Hyakki Yako can usually be heard from a distance if you have good audio, indicated by the sounds of bells and drums. This is what a Hyakki Yako event will look like: Unfortunately these appear to have a very low spawn rate, so you may find yourself having to specifically hunt for these. The best way to get them to spawn is simply to fast travel to any of the aforementioned locations and walking along the roads in the hope they spawn. They can spawn behind you too, so regularly check behind yourself when doing this. It is recommended that you regularly fast travel to Shibuya Scramble Crossing while you play the game doing all other content, as this will hopefully get you several Hyakki Yako events that you won’t have to hunt for later.
Hero of Shibuya | Complete the main story after transferring 100% of the spirits in the city.
Once you have transferred 100% of the spirits in Shibuya (see Salvation of All for details), complete Chapters 5 and 6 to finish the game. This isn’t missable as even if you finish the game without 100% spirits, you will be put back before the point of no return and can complete it again. Completing the game with 100% spirits transferred will reward you with the Tireless Beads, which gives you unlimited energy for all attacks (Wind, Water, Fire, Bow and Talismans), as well as the Shadow Beads, which makes you practically invisible to Visitors.
Problem Solver | Complete a side mission.
See Wishmaker | ||
Wishmaker | Complete all side missions.

Talismania | Acquire all talismans.
Talismans are items that you can throw on the ground use to help defeat Visitors. There are four types of Talismans in the game and you will either acquire these or unlock these for purchase simply by playing through the story. All of them will be available for purchase partway through Chapter 3. 1. Stun Talisman – Found in Kuo Shrine after cleansing it, purchasable from stores for 4,000 meika 2. Thicket Talisman – Found in KK’s Safehouse after getting there during the story for the 2nd time, purchasable from stores for 1,000 meika 3. Decoy Talisman – purchasable from stores for 1,000 meika after completing Chapter 2 4. Exposure Talisman – purchasable from stores for 7,000 meika after Rinko chasing sequence in Chapter 3
Power Overwhelming | Acquire all sets of prayer beads.
There are 33 prayer beads in the game, which are equippable upgrades. These can be obtained at shrines after cleansing them, completing requests at Relic-Hunting Nekomatas, and by completing the game with 100% spirits transferred. » Ghostwire Tokyo – All Prayer Bead Locations
Boundless Spirit | Acquire the maximum number of katashiro.
Katashiro are items that you use to store spirits in before transferring them. The more katashiro you have, the more spirits you will be able to carry on you at once. The maximum number of katashiro you can acquire is 50. These can be bought at Convenience Stores for 3,000 meika each. You can get some as rewards from Relic-Hunting Nekomatas, but given you need spend 1,000,000 meika anyway it is simply easier to purchase them all.
Animal Lover | Pet an animal.
Throughout the city of Shibuya there are many cats and dogs. By pressing when in front of an animal, you will pet it.
Amateur Photographer | Use Photo Mode for the first time.
Simply enter Photo Mode in the pause menu and this pop immediately.
You Wouldn’t Steal a Spirit | Successfully protect at least 3 Containment Cubes in a single battle.
Containment Cubes are random events that occur in the open world, where several cubes will appear on the map (indicated by a green search area similar to Side Missions), and Visitors will try to destroy them. You must defend these Containment Cubes from the Visitors. These random events can spawn with 1, 2 or 3 Containment Cubes for you to defend. Each cube will begin with 100% health, so simply defend 3 of them against Visitors.
Don’t Worry About It | Pull a “Daikyo” omikuji.
At all of the major shrines around the map (Shiroyama, Hirokawa, Kirigaoka and Onte), you can pay 200 meika to pull an omikuji at the omikuji box. These are fortunes that grant you certain buffs. Daikyo is a debuff that deals heavy damage to you, and unfortunately it is the rarest omikuji you can pull. It has roughly a 1% chance of being pulled, so you will need to grind for this. The best way to do this is as follows: 1. Save your game in front of an Omikuji Box 2. Pay 200 Meika and pull an Omikuji 3. If the Omikuji is not Daikyo, reload your save 4. Rinse and repeat until you get Daikyo
Better Together | Fuse back with KK after being hit by a severance attack.
Several Visitors have the ability to sever KK from Akito’s body. When this happens, you can press to return KK to Akito’s body and get this trophy. This should happen automatically at a point during the story, but otherwise you can do this against the Crimson Kuchisake Visitors, who are the tall red ladies with large scissors.
Visiting Hours Are Over | Defeat every type of Visitor.
There are 23 types of Visitors in the game, and these are the various enemy types you encounter. You will need to defeat a Visitor once for it register in your database. Many of these you will encounter naturally, but two of them – Forlorn and Forsaken – can be annoying to kill as they will flee when you alert them and they have a limited number of spawn locations in the game. They will respawn eventually but it usually takes a few hours before this happens. When encountering these it is recommended that you save your game so that you can reload in the event they flee. » Ghostwire Tokyo – All Visitors (Enemy Types)
Heartbreaker | Defeat a Visitor by pulling out its core.
See Soul Breaker | ||
Soul Breaker | Defeat 50 Visitors by pulling out their cores.
When a Visitor has been weakened, their core will be exposed and you can pull it out by holding . This is a core component of combat and you will get this naturally.
One Fell Swoop | Defeat at least 5 Visitors simultaneously by pulling out their cores.
In order to do this, you will need to have at least 5 Visitors with their cores exposed simultaneously. The best way to do this is either by using the Wire In ability to stun a group of Visitors and make them easier to expose, or by using Exposure Talismans. The best places to do this is either in the first encounter after unlocking the Wire In ability, during Hyakki Yako events, or during the final boss fight. It is recommended that you have the Core Exposure – Duration Boost II ability to make them remain exposed for longer, as well as Core Grab – Speed Boost II to make it so you can grab it faster, to avoid potentially getting interrupted by any other enemies.
Couldn’t Take the Heat | Defeat at least 3 Visitors simultaneously by detonating a red ether crystal.
Red Ether Crystals are found in many combat encounters, and they are floating explosive objects such as gas canisters. Shooting these will cause an explosion with a very large radius, and will instantly kill most basic Visitors (such as the Rain Walker or Student of Misery). As long as you have multiple visitors in an area with a Red Ether Crystal, this shouldn’t be too difficult to get.
Silent Kill | Defeat a total of 200 Visitors using Quick Purge.
Quick Purge is a means of instantly killing Visitors. This can be done by pressing when behind an unaware Visitor, behind a Visitor when they are stunned by a Stun Talisman, or on a downed Visitor in combat with the Ground Core Grab ability unlocked. The latter method is the easiest method for doing this, as you will very regularly knock down basic Visitors and can get a Quick Purge on these.
Take a Bow | Defeat a total of 50 Visitors using the bow.
The bow is obtained during Chapter 2, and can be equipped by pressing Go For The Eyes. Arrows can be bought at Convenience Stores for 300 meika. Unlocking the Speed Boost and Quiver Boost abilities for the bow will make this process easier.
Go For the Eyes | Defeat a total of 20 Visitors with headshots.
This can be done with your elemental abilities or with the bow, but it is recommended that you do it with the bow as it is more precise. Simply aim for the head and most basic Visitors will die in one hit with the bow.
Sniper | Defeat a Visitor with a headshot from a distance of at least 40m.
This can be a little difficult to do due to arrow drop. The best way to do this is by finding a Visitor that isn’t moving much and place a waypoint on them. Then move 40+ meters away and make a save at that location. Attempt to get a headshot, and if you fail to get it, simply reload your save and try again. Below is a good location to do it, standing on the roof of the public toilets north of Sengoku Police Box and shooting the Visitor in front of the Jizo Statue to the east. ![]() |
||
Freeze, Scumbag | Defeat a total of 10 Visitors with Quick Purge while they are held by a Stun Talisman.
Stun Talismans can be bought from stores for 4,000 meika after cleansing Kuo Shrine in Chapter 2. This talisman can be thrown on the ground and any Visitors within the area of effect will become stunned for about 10 seconds. While they are stunned, you can get behind them and perform a Quick Purge with . Simply perform this on 10 Visitors. If you don’t want to spend a lot of meika on these talismans, you can instead simply make a save before using a talisman and reload afterwards, as progress will carry over reloads.
A Shrubbery! | Defeat a total of 3 Visitors with Quick Purge while hiding in bushes created by a Thicket Talisman.
Thicket Talismans can be bought from stores for 1,000 meika after returning to KK’s Safehouse in Chapter 2. This talisman can be thrown on the ground to create shrubbery that you can hide in to avoid detection from Visitors. For this trophy you will want to throw one at a Visitor so that you can get behind it and perform a Quick Purge while inside the shrubbery. This can be a bit finnicky as sometimes you can perform a Quick Purge on a Visitor and it won’t register, so if this happens you will simply have to try it again until it does. If you don’t want to spend a lot of meika on these talismans, you can instead simply make a save before using a talisman and reload afterwards, as progress will carry over reloads.
Left Yourself Open | Defeat a total of 10 Visitors by ripping out their cores after exposing them with an Exposure Talisman.
Exposure Talismans can be bought from stores for 7,000 meika partway through Chapter 3. This talisman can be thrown on the ground and any Visitors within the area of effect will either have their cores immediately exposed (if they’re a weaker Visitor) or take more damage (if they’re a stronger Visitor). Simply rip out of the cores of 10 Visitors who are affected by the Exposure Talisman. This can be done in combination with One Fell Sweep if you use the talisman on a group of 5 Visitors. If you don’t want to spend a lot of meika on these talismans, you can instead simply make a save before using a talisman and reload afterwards, as progress will carry over reloads.
Master of Blocking | Perform a total of 30 Perfect Blocks.
A Perfect Block is performed by pressing the moment a Visitor’s attack is about to hit you, and doing so will leave the Visitor vulnerable to an attack. These are very easy to pull off against the basic Rain Walker Visitors. It is likely that you will get this through natural play as it is always best to block incoming attacks and you will likely get 30 Perfect Blocks without actively going for them.
In Sync | Wire In a total of 10 times.
Wire In is an ability that you unlock at the end of Chapter 2. It is charged by removing cores from or quick purging Visitors, and it can be activated by pressing + . When activated, all nearby Visitors will be hit with a shockwave and cores will be easier to expose. As long as you remember to use Wire In when it becomes available, you will get this naturally.
Walking on Air | Grapple and glide to remain in the air for at least 10 seconds.
Throughout the game are Tengu on rooftops that you can grapple to by holding and pressing . In order to get this, you will want to find several Tengus close together, grapple to one and glide by holding , before grappling onto the next Tengu and repeating. There appears to be some leniency to this where if you touch a roof before gliding it may still count. To make this easier, it is recommended to get the Grapple – Summon Tengu and Glide – Duration Boost III abilities.
Big Spender | Spend a total of 1,000,000 meika.
Meika is the form of currency in the game, and it can be acquired by defeating powerful visitors, transferring spirits, completing side missions and handing in relics to Relic-Hunting Nekomatas. In the process of completing everything else you will get more than 1,000,000 meika, and by purchasing everything at the Relic-Hunting Nekomatas as well as 50 Katashiro you should hit 1,000,000 meika spent.
Pious | Put a total of 10,000 meika into offering boxes.
Several of the shrines around the game will have offering boxes, at which you can spend either 100 or 500 meika to make a wish. It is recommended that you always choose the 500 meika option, as this allows you to wish for help finding Tanuki and Jizo Statues, which will mark one of that respective collectible on the map for the region you’re in.
