So, what is the Wordle answer for game #1,341?
The answer is… MADLY.
Greetings, Wordlers! Today’s puzzle was indeed a challenging one. Notably, only two letters in the solution — ‘A’ and ‘L’ — are among the ten most common Wordle letters.
This meant my usual starting word, ORATE (which includes the top five most common letters), only revealed a single yellow ‘A’. This left a staggering 161 potential answers still in play.
Of course, the WordleBot’s best Wordle start words proved much more effective. For example, SLIDE narrows it down to 20 possible answers, while TABLE reduces it to just 11. Starting with DEALT would have left only four remaining possibilities.

On my second attempt, I prioritize using ‘L’, ‘I’, ‘S’, ‘N’, and ‘C’, and I managed to incorporate four of these with NAILS. This turned out to be a strong move, turning both ‘A’ and ‘L’ green and reducing the options to just five, according to WordleBot*.
Next, I tried DALLY, which was also a good guess, turning ‘Y’ green and ‘D’ yellow. This indicated the answer had to be ?ADLY.
At this point, I considered two possibilities: BADLY and MADLY. I initially guessed BADLY, which was incorrect, but it thankfully made my fifth and final guess of MADLY straightforward.
Hopefully, you fared better than I did today, Wordlers. See you again tomorrow for the next puzzle!
*These options were: BADLY, MADLY, CAULK, DALLY, and GAYLY.
Yesterday’s Wordle Answer
Reading this in a different time zone? Yesterday’s Wordle answer for game #1,340 was INDIE.
Hello again, Wordlers. Yesterday’s puzzle was somewhat tricky; only 34 Wordle answers begin with the letter ‘I’, and in this case, it appeared twice!
‘I’ is also not among the five most common Wordle letters, meaning it’s absent from my preferred starting word: ORATE. Only ‘E’ turned green, leaving a daunting 101 possible answers remaining.
The WordleBot’s best Wordle start words were again significantly more helpful. PLANE, for instance, leaves 36 answers, and CRANE reduces that to 24. If you had started with TRIED, you would have been left with only ten options.

For my second guess, I aim to incorporate a mix of ‘L’, ‘I’, ‘S’, ‘N’, and ‘C’ around any confirmed letters.
With just a green ‘E’, it was simple to play SLICE. Although this only added a yellow ‘I’, it narrowed down the possibilities to nine, according to WordleBot*.
I then chose IMBUE for my next guess, which turned ‘I’ green but didn’t reveal any other letters.
However, this move eliminated all but the correct answer. After considering the remaining letters for a moment, I solved it: INDIE!
I hope you had a successful solve yesterday, Wordlers. See you tomorrow!
*These options were: HINGE, GENIE, PIXIE, GIMME, MIDGE, BINGE, INDIE, PIQUE, and IMBUE.

Wordle Tips — How to Win at Wordle
The most effective tip I can offer is to consistently use one of the best Wordle start words. It cannot be overstated how much of a difference this makes.
Without a strategic starting word, you’re essentially guessing in the dark, trying to identify the correct five letters from 26 possibilities. However, experts have mathematically determined the most effective starting words based on letter frequency in English and within Wordle answers specifically. Utilize this advantage!
Secondly, consider letter combinations, especially at the beginning and end of words. Some combinations are far more prevalent than others — for example, common pairings include SH, ST, CR, and CH.
Vowels are also crucial. While not every Wordle answer contains multiple vowels, many do, and some even contain three. A well-chosen starting word should incorporate a couple of vowels. If your initial vowels don’t appear, prioritize testing other vowels in your subsequent guesses. Also, remember the letter Y, which often acts as a vowel and is frequently positioned at the end of words. It’s easy to overlook this semi-vowel.
Lastly, experiment with possibilities. As long as you don’t hit ‘Enter’, you can test out potential answers on the screen to see how they look. Input likely letters along with any letters you’ve already confirmed are in the word, then mentally swap out letters with other possible options. This technique has proven helpful numerous times, particularly when the word is less common.

What Else Should I Know About Wordle?
Wordle officially launched in October 2021, but its origins date back to June of the same year, celebrating its first anniversary on June 19, 2022. (You might be interested in my thoughts on 5 improvements Wordle needs to maintain long-term player engagement.)
However, Wordle’s popularity surged dramatically towards the end of 2021, going viral in January 2022 as players worldwide discovered its appeal. Its success led to The New York Times acquiring Wordle for a seven-figure sum in early February, making it part of NYT Games.
The game is accessible through the NYT Games website here and remains completely free to play. Both the NYT and Wordle’s creator, Josh Wardle, have affirmed that it will continue to be free. Some players believe Wordle has become more difficult since the NYT acquisition, but evidence suggests this isn’t the case.
Wordle is a straightforward game where you must guess a five-letter word in six attempts. After each guess, you receive feedback indicating which letters are in the target word and whether they are correctly positioned.
A correctly placed letter turns green. A letter that is in the word but in the wrong position turns yellow. A letter that is not in the word at all turns gray.
There is only one puzzle per day, and everyone solves the same puzzle. It resets daily at midnight. More detailed information about the game can be found in our What is Wordle? article.
