Within this guide, you will find essential information about when and where you can vote, details on the United States Senate races, comprehensive explanations of state ballot propositions, and a clear outline of your rights as a California voter.
To enhance voter accessibility and participation in the upcoming election, California offers expanded voting options and timeframes. Here are key dates and methods for casting your ballot:
By October 7, 2024, every registered voter in California will receive their official ballot for the 2024 Election via mail.
- Vote-by-Mail: You can conveniently return your ballot by mail using the provided postage-paid envelope. Ensure your ballot is postmarked on or before Election Day, November 5, 2024, and received by your county elections office no later than 7 days after Election Day.
- Early Voting: Early voting commences on October 7, 2024. County elections officials provide early voting opportunities at their offices, and many counties also offer additional early voting locations for increased convenience before Election Day.
- Ballot Drop-off Locations: Secure ballot drop-off locations will be available no later than October 8, 2024. These locations provide a safe and accessible way to return your ballot.
- Vote Centers: In counties participating in the Voter’s Choice Act, vote centers will open starting October 26, 2024. At these centers, you can return your ballot, vote in person, and access voter assistance.
- Election Day: November 5, 2024, is Election Day and the final day to cast your ballot in the General Election.
