Ready to set sail? Let’s dive into this 10/10 indie gem and chart your course to platinum glory.

Phase One: Unraveling the Story – “Pursuits”

In this initial phase of our Dredge Trophy Guide, your primary focus should be engaging with the main storyline, known as “Pursuits” within the game. Dredge features a concise yet compelling narrative with a core set of Pursuits, essential for unlocking story-related trophies.

“The Collector” Pursuit takes center stage, guiding you across the game’s regions to gather five enigmatic artifacts for the mysterious Collector. Progressing through this central Pursuit, alongside a few interwoven side quests, will naturally unlock a series of unmissable trophies as you approach the narrative climax.

Crucially, Dredge presents a point of no return before the finale, granting access to two distinct ending trophies. After securing one ending, the game conveniently returns you to this pivotal juncture, allowing you to readily pursue the alternate ending and its corresponding trophy.

With both ending trophies in your grasp, you’ll transition seamlessly to Phase Two. Rest assured, nothing in Dredge is missable, and the game offers no difficulty settings that impact trophy acquisition. Should you find the fishing mini-game challenging, the accessibility options feature an easier fishing mode to alleviate any timing pressures.

Throughout this phase, embrace any supplementary Pursuits and boat upgrades that come your way. Every action you take in Dredge contributes to your overall trophy journey, making early progression exceptionally beneficial.

Trophies attainable in this phase:

Unmissable Story Trophies

Introductions

Complete the introduction quest.

Story-Related, Unmissable

As the name suggests, the “Introductions” trophy is one of the first you’ll earn in Dredge. It unlocks automatically after completing the initial introductory objectives, seamlessly guiding you into the game’s core mechanics and narrative.

The Key

Deliver the Key.

Story-Related, Unmissable

The Key Artifact, vital to the main story, is located within a shipwreck situated behind Greater Marrow. Upon retrieving the key, deliver it to the Collector. This action progresses the storyline, grants you the “Haste” ability, and importantly, unlocks “The Key” trophy.

The Secret

Surrender the Music Box.

Story-Related, Unmissable

To acquire the Music Box Artifact, you need to pursue the “Hermitage” questline within the Gale Cliffs region. Following this Pursuit leads you to the Music Box. Delivering this artifact to the Collector furthers the narrative, bestows the “Manifest” ability upon you, and unlocks “The Secret” trophy.

The Bond

Entrust the Ring.

Story-Related, Unmissable

The Ring Artifact is found in the heart of Stellar Basin. However, reaching it requires Hadal fishing equipment. You’ll first need to advance the “Collect All Samples” Pursuit for the Researcher in Stellar Basin to obtain this specialized gear. Once equipped with Hadal fishing equipment, fish at the center of Stellar Basin to find the Ring. Handing over the Ring to the Collector propels the story forward, unlocks the “Banish” ability, and rewards you with “The Bond” trophy.

The Chains

Relinquish the Necklace.

Story-Related, Unmissable

The Necklace Artifact is tied to “The Bitter End” Pursuit, initiated by the Airman in the Twisted Strand region. Following this questline will lead you to the Necklace. Deliver the Necklace to the Collector to continue the story, gain the “Atrophy” ability, and unlock “The Chains” trophy.

The Moment

Give up the Pocket Watch.

Story-Related, Unmissable

The Pocketwatch Artifact is the objective of the “Flames of the Deep” Pursuit, given by the Fanatic in Devil’s Spine. Completing this Pursuit will lead you to the Pocketwatch. Deliver the Pocketwatch to the Collector to advance the story and unlock “The Moment” trophy.

Shortly after obtaining “The Moment” trophy, you’ll encounter Dredge’s point of no return. It is safe to proceed past this point to experience one of the game’s two endings, as the game conveniently reverts back to this pre-point of no return state after an ending is reached.

Story Ending Trophies

Unshackled

Find a use for the relics.

Story-Related

Technically considered the “bad” ending, “Unshackled” is arguably the simpler ending to achieve. To unlock this trophy, follow these steps at the point of no return:

  1. Deliver the Pocketwatch to the Collector. You will be warned about the point of no return but offered the option to proceed.
  2. Confirm you are ready. The Collector will board your vessel.
  3. Sail the Collector to the red “X” marked on your map, located west of Greater Marrow.
  4. Watch the ensuing cutscene until the “Unshackled” trophy unlocks.
Sated

Throw it back.

Story-Related

The “Sated” trophy is awarded for achieving what is generally considered Dredge’s “good” ending. This ending requires a few more steps compared to “Unshackled,” but remains relatively straightforward.

  1. Meet the Old Mayor: While some guides suggest this step is unnecessary, encountering the Old Mayor proved essential for triggering the good ending in testing. The Old Mayor can be found at campsites across the map. A reliable location is the campsite south of Devil’s Spine, on one of the eastern islands.

  2. Speak to the Lighthouse Keeper: After exhausting all dialogue options with the Old Mayor, return to Greater Marrow and converse with the Lighthouse Keeper. She will now be receptive to discussing the silver and crimson book.

  3. Inquire about the Book: Engage in dialogue about the book to unlock a new dialogue option when speaking to the Collector.

  4. Obtain the Book: Select the following dialogue options with the Collector: “Give me the book,” “[Step closer.],” and then “[Take the book.].”

  5. Return to the Lighthouse Keeper: With the book in your possession, return to the Lighthouse Keeper.

  6. Initiate the Final Sequence: Speak to the Lighthouse Keeper and select “I have the book” followed by “I’m ready” to begin the good ending sequence.

  7. Follow the Light: The Lighthouse Keeper will project her light into the distance. Navigate your boat towards the light.

  8. Throw it Back: Upon reaching the designated location, you will be prompted with an action. Select “Throw it back” and witness the cutscene, culminating in the “Sated” trophy.

Phase Two: Side-Pursuits, Docks, and Shrines – Completionist Voyage

With the main narrative concluded, Phase Two of our Dredge Trophy Guide shifts focus to completionist activities. You’ll likely find several partially completed side-Pursuits in your Pursuits Menu (). Additionally, some Pursuits might remain undiscovered.

Utilize the map provided below to systematically visit each Pursuit’s starting location. Engage with each Pursuit and diligently follow it to its completion. Repeat this process until your Pursuits Screen displays a full roster of completed quests. One notable Pursuit, offered by the Traveling Merchant at the Pontoons, tasks you with catching four exceptionally rare fish. Their locations are helpfully marked on the map.

Concurrently, dedicate time to solving all Fish Shrine puzzles, also conveniently marked on the map. These shrines offer valuable equipment upgrades upon completion.

Finally, this phase is an opportune time to visit every dock location in Dredge (many of which are Pursuit starting points). Docking at each location contributes to unlocking the “Safe Havens” trophy, rewarding thorough exploration.

Trophies targeted in this phase:

Complete All Pursuits

Providence

Solve All Shrine Puzzles

Servant of the Shrines

Visit All Docks

Safe Havens

Complete All Pursuits

Providence

Complete all side quests. One way or another.

To earn the “Providence” trophy, you must complete every side Pursuit in Dredge. Refer to the map provided earlier in this phase to locate the starting points of all Pursuits. Engage with each quest giver and meticulously follow the objectives until each Pursuit is marked as complete in your menu. Track your active Pursuits and their objectives through the in-game menu.

Many Pursuits require you to catch specific fish species. This synergy is beneficial as catching all fish species is a later trophy objective, making Pursuit completion a productive step towards overall trophy completion.

Solve All Shrine Puzzles

Servant of the Shrines

Solve all fish shrine puzzles.

Collectible

Dredge features four hidden Fish Shrines scattered across its map. Each shrine presents a unique puzzle, requesting specific fish sacrifices. Successfully completing a shrine’s request rewards you with a valuable piece of equipment, enhancing your fishing or boat capabilities.

To unlock the “Servant of the Shrines” trophy, you must solve all four Fish Shrine puzzles. Their locations are marked on the map provided at the beginning of this phase.

  • Twisted Strand Shrine: Requires any Aberration (mutated fish) as an offering. The “Atrophy” ability, acquired from the Collector, guarantees aberration spawns, making this shrine relatively easy to complete.
  • Greater Marrow Shrine: Demands 5 Curved Fish. Cod are ideal for this shrine as they are readily found near Greater Marrow and are easy to catch.
  • Stellar Basin Shrine: Requires four specific Oceanic predator fish:
    • Hammerhead Shark (Oceanic Equipment, Day/Night, H1 Spawn)
    • Blacktip Reef Shark (Oceanic Equipment, Night, I11 Spawn)
    • Bronze Whaler (Oceanic Equipment, Day, I6 Spawn)
    • Ghost Shark (Abyssal Equipment, Day/Night, I4 Spawn)
  • Gale Cliffs Shrine: Requests one Decorator Crab and two Rock Crabs. Both crab types can be reliably caught using Crab Pots placed near the shrine in shallow waters (0-5m depth). Deploy crab pots, rest at the nearby Pontoon for a couple of in-game days, and then collect your crab offerings.

Visit All Docks

Safe Havens

Visit every dock in the game.

The “Safe Havens” trophy is straightforward. Every dock location in Dredge is clearly labeled on the map provided at the beginning of this phase. Simply sail to and dock at each of these locations. Upon visiting the final dock, the “Safe Havens” trophy will unlock. Thoroughly exploring the map while completing Pursuits and Shrine puzzles should naturally lead you to all dock locations.

Phase Three: Catch ’em All – Master Angler

Phase Three of our Dredge Trophy Guide transitions into comprehensive fish collection. This phase focuses on identifying and catching every fish species not yet documented in your Encyclopaedia and securing one of every aberration variant. The in-game Encyclopaedia is your indispensable tool for this phase. It details missing fish species, their regional habitats, active times of day, and necessary fishing methods.

Trophies associated with this phase:

Fish Species Trophies

Master Angler
Aberration Attractor

Fish Species Trophies

Master Angler

Catch all known species of fish.

Collectible

Your Encyclopaedia is your central resource for tracking fish collection. Access it at any time to review collected species, identify missing ones, and consult details on aberrations and fishing requirements.

While “Master Angler” doesn’t strictly require catching every aberration type, the “Aberration Attractor” trophy does. Utilizing the “Atrophy” ability can increase aberration encounter rates, streamlining progress towards both trophies concurrently.

Earning “Master Angler” will likely necessitate researching and installing advanced fishing equipment, particularly the Oceanic fishing trawler, essential for catching Anchovies and their aberrations. This equipment progression is beneficial for subsequent phases of the Dredge Trophy Guide.

Aberration Attractor

Catch all aberrations.

Collectible

“Aberration Attractor” mirrors “Master Angler” but specifically focuses on collecting all aberration variants of fish species.

This trophy is surprisingly manageable. The Encyclopaedia provides detailed information on each fish species and its potential aberrations. Grayed-out aberrations in the Encyclopaedia indicate those yet to be caught.

A highly effective method for forcing aberration spawns is utilizing the “Atrophy” ability. Approach a fishing spot containing the desired fish species and activate “Atrophy.” This skill instantly eliminates all fish at the spot. While fish caught this way are typically low quality, an aberration spawn is almost guaranteed.

Rest for a day to replenish the “Atrophy” ability and repeat this process for each fish species until your aberration collection is complete.

Crustacean aberrations do not exist, eliminating the need for Crab Pots for this trophy. However, some aberrations, like the Anchovie King, are exclusive to trawling. Ensure you utilize trawling extensively and upgrade your trawling gear to maximize aberration acquisition.

Phase Four: Research and Upgrades – Ship Enhancement

Congratulations on reaching Phase Four of our Dredge Trophy Guide! By this stage, you should have amassed considerable wealth and resources, ready for substantial ship upgrades. If you’ve been consistently upgrading your vessel, you may be close to completing this phase already, albeit potentially resource-depleted.

This phase centers around expeditions to gather fish and dredge resources. Sell your catches and dredged materials to accumulate funds for purchasing ship Upgrades and Research Points from the Pontoon merchant. Equip your ship with a heavy-duty trawling net for expeditions. This allows you to dedicate your cargo hold primarily to resources while your trawling net passively fills with valuable fish for sale.

Trophies targeted in this phase:

Research Trophies

Researcher: Rods
Researcher: Nets
Researcher: Pots
Researcher: Engine

Upgrade Trophies

Swift Reaper
No Time to Linger
Light Up the Night
Hull: Improved
Hull: Refined
Hull: Advanced

Research Trophies

Researcher: Rods

Research all rods.

At any dock, access the “Research” option, located adjacent to “Rest.” The Research menu allows you to spend accumulated research points, obtained from Pursuits, dredging, or purchase, to unlock new equipment.

In the post-game, purchasing research points from the Pontoons is an efficient method. Sell fish to generate income, purchase a research point, rest for a day (research point stock replenishes daily), and repeat until you have sufficient points.

Once every item in the “Rods” tab of the Research menu is researched, the “Researcher: Rods” trophy will unlock.

Researcher: Nets

Research all nets.

Similar to “Researcher: Rods,” access the “Research” menu at any dock. Utilize research points to unlock all items within the “Nets” tab. Post-game, purchasing research points from Pontoons remains the most effective method.

Upon researching every item in the “Nets” research tab, the “Researcher: Nets” trophy is yours.

Researcher: Pots

Research all pots.

Again, utilize the “Research” menu at any dock. Expend research points to research all items in the “Crab Pots” tab. Pontoon merchants are your primary source for research points in the post-game.

Researching every item in the “Crab Pots” research tab will unlock the “Researcher: Pots” trophy.

Researcher: Engine

Research all engines.

Following the established pattern, access the “Research” menu at any dock. Invest research points to unlock all items within the “Engines” tab. Pontoon merchants offer readily available research points for post-game cleanup.

Researching all items under the “Engines” research tab will unlock the “Researcher: Engine” trophy.

Upgrade Trophies

Swift Reaper

Have a combined fishing speed of 200%.

Several factors influence fishing speed, including cabin books and a rare fishing talisman. However, the most direct method is researching, purchasing, and installing higher-quality fishing equipment.

At the Shipwright, preview the “Fishing Speed” stat of any fishing equipment by highlighting it and examining the details in the pop-out window. Your “combined fishing speed” is the sum of the fishing speed stats of all installed fishing equipment.

The “Swift Reaper” trophy often unlocks naturally as you progress and upgrade your fishing gear throughout the game, easily exceeding the 200% threshold.

No Time to Linger

Have a combined engine speed of 75kn.

Engine speed can be enhanced through cabin books, but the most effective approach is researching, purchasing, and installing superior engines.

At the Shipwright, preview the “Speed” stat of any engine by highlighting it. Your “combined engine speed” is the total speed stat of all installed engines.

Similar to “Swift Reaper,” “No Time to Linger” typically unlocks organically as you upgrade your engines during your playthrough, surpassing the 75-knot requirement.

Light Up the Night

Have a combined light strength of 3000 lumens.

Upgrading your ship’s lights is virtually the sole method to increase lumen output. Purchase and install higher-quality lights at the Shipwright.

Preview the lumen stat of any light at the Shipwright. “Combined light strength” is the total lumens stat of all installed lights.

The “Incandescent Array” light is a straightforward way to achieve 3000 lumens. However, its size necessitates a Tier 4 Hull Upgrade to accommodate it.

Hull: Improved

Upgrade to the 2nd tier hull.

The “Hull: Improved” trophy unlocks upon upgrading your ship to its second hull tier at a dry dock. Refer to “Hull: Advanced” for comprehensive hull upgrade information.

Hull: Refined

Upgrade to the 3rd tier hull.

“Hull: Refined” is awarded for upgrading your ship to its third hull tier at a dry dock. See “Hull: Advanced” for detailed hull upgrade instructions.

Hull: Advanced

Upgrade to the 4th tier hull.

Ship hull upgrades are performed at dry docks, located at Greater Marrow and the four floating Pontoons. The Dry Dock menu presents equipment slot upgrades followed by major hull upgrades.

Smaller equipment slot upgrades must be completed to unlock the larger hull upgrades. Hull upgrades require both money (from selling fish and trinkets) and specific resources. Resources like Wood, Cloth, and Metal are obtained from dredging spots across the map. Advanced Metal is found in rarer locations or purchasable from Pontoon Shipwrights.

Continuously fill upgrade slots with required resources throughout your playthrough. Reaching Tier 3 Hull by the end of the story is feasible, leaving minimal cleanup for Tier 4 in the post-game.

The trophy journey culminates at Tier 4 Hull. The final column of equipment slot upgrades is not required for trophy completion.

Phase Five: Swabbing the Deck – Miscellaneous Mastery

The final phase of our Dredge Trophy Guide, Phase Five, focuses on mop-up duties, addressing any remaining miscellaneous trophies. Many of these may have already been earned or partially progressed naturally during your playthrough.

Trophies targeted in this phase:

Miscellaneous Trophies

Perfect Packing
From the Fog
Prey Sighted
Mixed Results
Cruel Heat
Dimensional Bypass
Banisher
Unsustainable Fishing
Feeling Prepared
Lifted From the Deep
Trapped by These Walls
Tangled in This Web
Lives for Profit
Careless Harvesting
Unwanted
Cash for Gold

Miscellaneous Trophies

Perfect Packing

Have a full cargo.

“Perfect Packing” requires filling every cargo slot on your boat. An efficient method is deploying numerous Crab Pots in the shallow waters of Greater Marrow.

Fish as usual to fill most cargo slots, inevitably leaving a few single slots in awkward positions. Use Common Crabs from your Crab Pots to fill these remaining single slots. Common Crabs occupy only one cargo slot each, ideal for topping off your cargo.

Once every cargo slot is occupied, the “Perfect Packing” trophy unlocks instantly.

From the Fog

Hear a Foghorn echo.

RNG

During nighttime, when fog is prevalent, venture into the open ocean. Equip the Foghorn via . Activate the horn using while sailing into dense fog.

Periodically, you will hear a “response,” which is your own horn echoing. This is RNG-dependent. Persist in sounding the horn in heavy fog until you hear the echo and the “From the Fog” trophy unlocks.

Prey Sighted

Spot a fish of each category through your Spyglass.

Cumulative

“Prey Sighted” requires utilizing your Spyglass, accessible from the game’s outset. Switch to the Spyglass with and activate it using .

Time progresses in Dredge only when moving. The Spyglass is valuable for scouting surroundings while time is paused, aiding in selecting your next fishing spot.

To unlock “Prey Sighted,” you must use the Spyglass to identify one fishing spot of each category: Coastal, Shallow, Oceanic, Abyssal, Hadal, Volcanic, and Mangrove.

Abyssal and Hadal waters are common near Stellar Basin, Volcanic spots are found in Devil’s Spine, and Mangrove spots populate Twisted Strand.

Simply aim your Spyglass at each of these fishing spot types once. The trophy is cumulative across multiple Spyglass uses.

Mixed Results

Use Mixed Bait to attract 3 different species to a single spot.

RNG

After assisting the Airman in Twisted Strand during the story, you can revisit him for Mixed Bait. Initially, you’ll need to bring him fish to create the bait. Subsequently, Mixed Bait becomes purchasable from Pontoon merchants.

Equip Mixed Bait via the wheel and deploy it into the water with . This creates a new fishing spot adjacent to your boat, containing multiple fish species from the area.

“Mixed Results” requires spawning a fishing spot with at least three distinct species using Mixed Bait. This is RNG-dependent. Each time you use Mixed Bait, hope for a spot with three or more species.

The trophy unlocks upon bait deployment, before catching any fish. If the trophy doesn’t unlock immediately, move to a different location and try again.

Cruel Heat

Keep your Haste burn meter above 50% for 10 seconds.

Non-Cumulative

The “Haste” ability is obtained from the Collector during the story. Equip it via and activate it with . Haste dramatically increases boat speed but rapidly increases panic, raising paranoia.

When Haste is active, a meter in the bottom left fills quickly and depletes slowly upon release of . To unlock “Cruel Heat,” maintain this meter above 50% for 10 seconds.

Raise the meter to approximately 75-80%, then release . As it drops, re-engage around 60% to bring it back to 75-80%. Repeat this juggling technique, keeping the gauge above 50% for 10 seconds to unlock “Cruel Heat.”

Dimensional Bypass

Traverse a long distance using Manifest.

The “Manifest” ability is awarded by the Collector for delivering the Music Box. Equip Manifest via and select it. With Manifest equipped, hold to teleport back to Blackstone Isle, unlocking “Dimensional Bypass.”

Banisher

Banish 10 threats.

Cumulative

The “Banisher” ability is a story-related reward from the Collector. Equip it via and activate it with . Banisher creates a pulsating orb that repels hostile entities, including the Kraken (Stellar Basin), Sea-serpent (Gale Cliffs), Mind Flayers (Twisted Strand), and Mother Piranha (Devil’s Spine).

“Banisher” requires using this ability on these threats a cumulative total of 10 times.

An efficient farming method is to repeatedly banish the Kraken in Stellar Basin. Travel to Stellar Basin’s Pontoon, venture to the basin’s center, and use Banish on the Kraken. Immediately return to the Pontoon and rest for 24 hours (threats respawn).

Repeat this cycle until “Banisher” unlocks.

Unsustainable Fishing

Use Atrophy on a fishing spot a long way away.

“Atrophy” is a story-acquired ability from the Collector. Equip it via and activate it by holding while aiming at a fishing spot.

“Unsustainable Fishing” requires using Atrophy to deplete a distant fishing spot. Locate a distant fishing spot using the Spyglass. Aim your boat towards it and hold . If it fails, move slightly closer and retry. Repeat until the fishing spot is just within Atrophy’s range and activates. If the spot is sufficiently distant, “Unsustainable Fishing” will unlock.

Feeling Prepared

Install equipment into every slot on your ship.

“Feeling Prepared” requires filling every equipment slot on your ship with corresponding equipment. Equipment slots are cargo slots marked with icons indicating their purpose. Cargo hold equipment is only operational when placed in its designated equipment slot.

This trophy is easier to achieve early in the game with a smaller ship and fewer equipment slots. However, it remains attainable in the post-game with a larger ship, requiring more equipment purchases.

Lifted From the Deep

Catch 250 fish using rods.

Cumulative

“Lifted From the Deep” progresses, and likely unlocks, naturally during gameplay. It requires catching a cumulative total of 250 fish using the fishing rod mini-game. Fish caught via Crab Pots or Trawling do not count.

Trapped by These Walls

Catch 100 crabs in crab pots.

“Trapped by These Walls” requires catching 100 crabs using Crab Pots. Crab Pots are purchasable from the Fishmonger or Pontoon Fish Markets after unlocking them. Equip Crab Pots via and deploy them with .

To farm crabs, purchase multiple Crab Pots (sturdier pots are more efficient). Deploy them around island coasts. Rest for approximately 3 in-game days at a safe location, then collect crabs from your pots.

Repeat this process, repairing pots as needed, until “Trapped by These Walls” unlocks.

Tangled in This Web

Catch 150 fish in trawl nets.

“Tangled in This Web” requires catching 150 fish cumulatively using a Trawling Net. Equip a Trawling Net in any available Net slot. Deploy the net into the water by selecting it with and pressing .

The Trawling Net passively catches fish as you sail, storing them separately from your cargo. Trawling nets require occasional repairs.

To farm this trophy, equip a Trawling Net, deploy it, and sail in open waters. Continue catching and selling fish until “Tangled in This Web” unlocks.

Lives for Profit

Sell a total of $2500 worth of fish.

Cumulative

“Lives for Profit” simply requires earning a cumulative total of $2500 from selling fish. As fishing is your primary income source, this trophy is highly likely to progress and unlock naturally during your playthrough.

If you haven’t reached $2500 in fish sales, continue fishing and selling your catches.

Careless Harvesting

Deplete a total of 25 fishing spots.

Cumulative

Depleting a fishing spot occurs when you catch every fish at that location, causing the spot to disappear. Some rare fish spots deplete after a single catch.

“Careless Harvesting” requires depleting a cumulative total of 25 fishing spots. This trophy should progress naturally as you fish extensively throughout Dredge.

Unwanted

Discard 25 fish.

Cumulative

Inventory management is a constant consideration in Dredge. When catching a fish with a full cargo hold, you must discard either the new catch or a previously caught fish. Discard a highlighted fish by holding .

“Unwanted” requires discarding a cumulative total of 25 fish, a common occurrence during regular gameplay.

Cash for Gold

Sell a total of $1500 worth of trinkets.

Cumulative

Trinkets are found while dredging and awarded for certain activities. Sell trinkets to the Trader at Little Marrow for a small profit.

Trinkets can be sold directly from storage. Move trinkets to storage regularly and make periodic trips to the Trader at Little Marrow to sell your accumulated trinket stock.

Continue selling trinkets until you earn a cumulative total of $1500 from trinket sales for the “Cash for Gold” trophy.

PlatGet!

From the Depths

Obtain all other trophies.

After acquiring every trophy detailed in this Dredge Trophy Guide, the “From the Depths” Platinum Trophy will unlock. Congratulations on mastering Dredge and achieving platinum!
