While Hogwarts Legacy boasts a staggering 236 Field Guide Pages, they are neatly categorized into three distinct types:
- Revelio Pages (150): These pages are revealed by casting the Revelio spell near specific objects or locations of interest. They are crucial for the “Collector’s Edition” achievement and offer fascinating insights into the game’s world.
- Flying Pages (66): These pages take to the skies, requiring you to catch them mid-flight using the Accio spell. They add a dynamic element to your exploration and contribute to Field Guide Challenges.
- Butterfly Mirrors (20): These pages are obtained by activating enchanted mirrors and then locating a corresponding butterfly nearby. Guiding the butterfly back to the mirror will reward you with a Field Guide Page. These also contribute to challenges and offer a unique puzzle element.
For trophy and achievement hunters, focusing on Revelio Pages is paramount. However, don’t overlook Flying Pages and Mirror Pages entirely. Collecting a sufficient number of these is necessary to complete the Field Guide Pages Challenges, which in turn unlock valuable Appearances (cosmetics) needed for your Collection Menu.
It’s wise to naturally collect Flying Pages as you traverse the world and solve Butterfly Mirror puzzles when you encounter them. If you find yourself short on pages to complete challenges, you can then specifically seek out any remaining Flying Pages or Mirror Pages. Remember to always claim your rewards by clicking the completed Challenge icons in your menu to redeem those coveted collectibles!
None of the Hogwarts Legacy Field Guide Pages are missable. Even after completing the main storyline, you can freely roam the world and collect any pages you might have missed. Some pages, however, require specific spells or abilities, such as Alohomora for unlocking doors or the Level 3 lock-picking skill gained from finding all Demiguise Statues. Therefore, we recommend progressing through the main story to unlock essential spells and consider collecting Demiguise Statues to maximize your access to all areas and pages.

Location: Inside Dogweed and Deathcap. Activate the mirror on the right side of the room. Head outside and climb the cliffs to reach the chimney of the building. The butterfly is there. Take it back to the mirror.

Location: From Clocktower Courtyard Floo Powder, through locked door by dueling club (right of archway outside). Mirror on wall inside. Illuminate it. Outside to courtyard. Immediately right, into archway. Northeast wall in archway. Butterfly there. Bring it back.

Location: From Clocktower Courtyard Floo Powder, out door next to powder to bridge. Across bridge, through door. Immediately left. Map of Argyllshire, illuminated block above. Depulso on block to reveal secret room. Butterfly mirror inside. Activate it. Out of room, immediately left down stairs. Around corner, first door on left. Bathroom. Butterfly on towel rack. Bring it back.
