Revolution Idle Guide: Mastering Early Game Prestige and Infinity

Embarking on your journey in Revolution Idle? Understanding the game’s core mechanics, especially prestige and infinity, is crucial for efficient early game progression. This guide will walk you through the essentials, ensuring you make the most of your initial playthroughs.

One common question for new players revolves around when to prestige for the first time. You might observe small exponent increases, such as 0.01 or 0.02, and wonder if they’re significant enough. While these numbers may seem tiny, remember they are exponents, meaning their impact is more substantial than it initially appears.

Regarding auto-prestige settings, it’s generally advisable to avoid aggressive settings before your first infinity. Setting them too high can lead to unproductive downtime at the beginning of each infinity cycle. However, once you’ve broken infinity, feel free to crank up the aggression. At that stage, your infinities will likely be long enough for aggressive settings to be beneficial.

For players in the early game, like yourself, the primary focus should be on prestiging at intervals that offer tangible progress within a reasonable timeframe. If reaching a 100x multiplier takes an hour, it might not be the most efficient strategy.

Let’s illustrate the concept of multiplier increases with an example. Imagine it takes you 6 minutes to achieve a 10x multiplier increase. If you prestige, your score resets to zero. It won’t take 10 times less time (30 seconds) to return to your previous point. Instead, you experience a brief downtime of 30 seconds, but your speed is now 10x faster.

Consider reaching a 100x multiplier (let’s call it ‘X multiplier’). At your old speed, it would take 60 minutes. With the new speed, you’ve already spent 6 minutes and 30 seconds (downtime) to reach 10% of your ‘X’ multiplier. Assuming a somewhat constant multiplier increase rate, the next 30 seconds will get you another 10%. This means you’ll reach 100% of your ‘X’ multiplier in approximately 6 minutes more, totaling about 12 minutes to achieve what previously took 60 minutes. This simplified example doesn’t account for exponents and assumes a linear increase in prestige multiplier, which might not be entirely accurate in Revolution Idle.

It’s worth noting that even the game itself suggests your first prestige at a 10x multiplier. Sticking to this recommendation, especially if reaching it takes several minutes, is a solid starting point.

Lastly, don’t be overly concerned with the percentage increase you see related to infinity. It operates on a logarithmic scale, roughly increasing by 1% for every 1000x score increase in infinity. Focus on consistent, reasonable gains in your early prestiges, and you’ll steadily progress in Revolution Idle.
