The coronavirus pandemic has undoubtedly disrupted our lives, leaving many feeling disoriented and uncertain. Just as an inner ear infection can throw off your balance, the temporary pause of familiar routines like Bible studies, small groups, and in-person events can create a sense of unease. But amidst the uncertainty, one path remains clear: this interruption is an invitation to accelerated prayer.
What if these disruptions are God’s way of calling us to a more earnest and fervent prayer life? What if this period of pause is actually a trumpet call to fasting and seeking His face? We often say that prayer is the work of ministry, and now we have a unique opportunity to demonstrate our belief in that truth. God works through our prayers to bring His plans to fruition. Imagine the impact we can have when countless individuals unite in prayer, fervently seeking healing and restoration for our world.
This interruption in our normal routines presents a precious gift – the opportunity to intentionally seek God’s presence. We need God for far more than just the end of COVID-19.
- We pray because we yearn for His presence.
- We pray because we long for the Church to be filled with His glory (2 Chron. 7:1-3, 14)!

- We pray because we hunger for God’s glory to fill the earth (Hab. 3:2).
Use this 7-Day Coronavirus Prayer Guide as a tool to become a faithful watchman and to encourage others to join in prayer (Isa. 62:6–7; Ezek. 22:30). Consider forming online prayer groups or using text messages to connect with others and lift up our world in prayer. Let’s diligently seek God until He pours out salvation and righteousness (Isa. 45:8). Now, more than ever, may we “continue steadfastly in prayer”—together.

WEDNESDAY: God’s People
Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. (Col. 3:12–15)

SATURDAY: Movement of Prayer
“Yet even now,” declares the LORD, “return to me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning; and rend your hearts and not your garments.” Return to the LORD your God, for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love; and he relents over disaster. Who knows whether he will not turn and relent, and leave a blessing behind him. (Joel 2:12–14)
PRAY FOR:
- God to raise up dedicated individuals who will commit to faithful, focused prayer.
- A spirit of prayer to spread rapidly across the nation and the world, uniting believers in supplication.

- Prayer to be our first response in every situation, trusting God to guide and provide.
