1. Raise Imagination to Rank 2
Before starting, you must have Imagination at Rank 2. Increase it by performing activities like speaking to the Chatty Elder in Grand Trad or reading the New World Travel Diary found in the Gauntlet Runner.
2. Talk to the Pompous Man
With Imagination at Rank 2, after the cutscene showing Grius’ Dagger being stolen, speak with Cuculus, the Pompous Man, to begin the quest. He will ask you to recover Malveno’s Ring from the Abandoned Tomb.
3. Travel to the Abandoned Tomb

4. Defeat Demo Man Goddard
On your way, you’ll encounter an unavoidable fight with Demo Man Goddard. Exploit his Electric weakness to defeat him quickly, preventing him from reducing your Hit/Evasion and exploiting your vulnerabilities.
5. Clear the Abandoned Tomb
Once inside the Abandoned Tomb, clear the dungeon and unlock all treasure chests. The chest containing Malveno’s Ring is number 15 on the map. Defeat Trove Imitec to Get the Key
To obtain the key, defeat the Trove Imitec. This boss appears after a Plateau Mirage, indicated by a massive chest. Utilize a Merchant to force it to waste turns picking up money.
6. Report Back to Cuculus
