A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder: BBC Unveils First Look at Highly Anticipated Series

The BBC and Moonage Pictures have released the first images from A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, based on Holly Jackson’s popular novels. The series is coming to BBC Three and BBC iPlayer later this year, promising a thrilling adaptation for fans of the book and newcomers alike.

The six-part series boasts a talented cast, including Emma Myers (Wednesday) as the determined protagonist Pip Fitz-Amobi, Anna Maxwell Martin (Motherland, A Spy Among Friends), Gary Beadle (Rye Lane, Small Axe), Mathew Baynton (Ghosts, Wonka) and newcomer Zain Iqbal as Ravi. A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder is a co-production with ZDFneo for German audiences.

The Mystery Unravels: A Plot Overview

Five years ago, schoolgirl Andie Bell was murdered, and her boyfriend Sal Singh was named as the killer. Case closed, right? The police are certain, and the town has moved on. However, Pip Fitz-Amobi, intelligent and resolute, harbors doubts. She sets out to prove Sal Singh’s innocence. But if Sal Singh isn’t the real killer, and the true murderer is still at large, what lengths will they go to in order to protect their secrets and stop Pip from uncovering the truth?

The images also hint at the darker aspects of the story, with Pip pictured in a forest adorned with mysterious black ribbons.

Meet the Crew: Cast and Production Team

Alongside Myers and Iqbal, the series features a talented supporting cast: Asha Banks (The Magic Flute) as Cara, Yali Topol Margalith (The Tattoist of Auschwitz) as Lauren, Jude Morgan-Collie (Here We Go) as Connor, and Raiko Gohara (Get Lost) as Zach. Anna Maxwell Martin plays Pip’s mum Leanne, providing a familiar face and maternal support to the young investigator.

Poppy Cogan serves as the lead writer for A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder (6 x 45’), with Florence Walker producing. Matthew Read, Matthew Bouch, and Frith Tiplady are executive producers for Moonage Pictures, alongside Lucy Richer and Danielle Scott-Haughton for the BBC, and Dolly Wells, Holly Jackson, and Poppy Cogan. BBC Studios will handle the international distribution of the series.
