The BBC, Netflix, and ZDFneo are collaborating again to bring viewers a second series of the acclaimed YA mystery thriller, A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder. Produced by Moonage Pictures, known for The Gentlemen and Bodies, this six-part series will premiere on BBC iPlayer and BBC Three, in co-production with Netflix and ZDFneo, with filming scheduled to begin in the UK in 2025.
Based on the best-selling books by Holly Jackson, the first series was adapted for television by Poppy Cogan. For A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder series BBC iPlayer season two, Holly Jackson will join Poppy Cogan in adapting and writing the new episodes.
Emma Myers (Wednesday) will reprise her role as the inquisitive Pip Fitz-Amobi, alongside Zain Iqbal as Ravi Singh. Additional casting announcements are expected soon.
Season two picks up after Pip solves the Andie Bell case. The events have profoundly affected her life, and not always positively. Pip is committed to resolving the repercussions and avoiding future investigations. However, as Max Hastings’ trial nears, key witness Jamie Reynolds mysteriously disappears, thrusting Pip into a desperate search to find him. This new mystery propels Pip into unexpected territories, forcing her to grapple with complex notions of justice and further challenging her “good girl” persona. The disappearance of Jamie Reynolds adds another layer of intrigue, promising to keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
The first series of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder was a runaway success upon its release in the Summer of 2024, becoming BBC Three’s highest-rated drama since its relaunch and a top-performing title on BBC iPlayer among viewers aged 16-24. Its compelling storyline and engaging characters made it a hit with audiences.

A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder series two (6×45) is produced by Moonage Pictures for BBC iPlayer and BBC Three in co-production with Netflix and ZDFneo. It was commissioned for the BBC by Lindsay Salt, Director of BBC Drama, and Fiona Campbell, Controller Youth Audience, BBC Three and BBC iPlayer. Based on Holly Jackson’s series of books, it will be adapted for screen by Holly Jackson and Poppy Cogan. Sophie Klein will serve as the producer.
