Are you ready to dive into the charming world of A Pixel Story and claim every trophy? This comprehensive guide will lead you through each achievement, providing tips and strategies to unlock them all. Get ready to explore, solve puzzles, and master the game!
Before we jump in, note that A Pixel Story features missable trophies. Five hidden achievements require specific actions in particular chapters, and collecting all items is crucial. Consider playing through the story once to enjoy it without spoilers before focusing on 100% completion.
If you’re searching for Art Scroll and Glitchbird locations, check out these focused guides! This guide will cover the rest of the trophies required for 100% completion.
One final note: Achieving 100% completion in A Pixel Story can be tedious. Missing a single collectible like a Glitchbird or Art Scroll and having your save file overwrite can force you to restart. The 3D sections, which often contain Art Scrolls, become inaccessible after completion. Moreover, Glitchbirds are particularly tricky; missing one or attempting to collect them via Chapter Replay will reset your progress, requiring a full game restart.
Story & Adventure Completion
Complete the Story Mode. / Complete the Adventure Mode.
These two trophies involve finishing the game on Normal and Adventure (Hardest) difficulties. Make sure to select “Adventure” to unlock both after beating the final boss.
Adventure mode provides a challenge, but the game includes accessibility options if you get stuck.
Powerful Puncher
Defeat the Honey Badger in a boxing match.
This trophy is unmissable and the first you’ll earn. Progress through Chapter One to reach Honey Peak, where you’ll box the Honey Badger. Winning the fight unlocks “Powerful Puncher.”
Optimistic Explorer
Try jumping off the desk. Worth a go.
Available in Chapter Two – Tome Tower, after Humgrump kicks you out of the book, head to the far left side of the desk world. Find a spot where you can jump off the desk.
Alternatively, any desk section will do, even a simple misstep can unlock this.
Huge Frog
Rearrange a sentence to make the little frog huge.
During Chapter Four – A Treacherous Trail, after the dark 2D section and the word puzzle with a bug, don’t move on immediately. Once you reach the Tiny Frog, use the words from the “Huge Bug” phrase and apply “Huge” to the frog to make it “Huge Frog.”
If you missed it, use a portal in the Tiny Lilypad page to return to the Huge Frog puzzle.
Perfect Fish Grab
Catch Floatio on your first try.
A test of patience and timing awaits! After “Huge Frog”, you’ll encounter Floatio, a mini-game where you must grab a flapping fish. To get the “Perfect Fish Grab” trophy, catch Floatio on your first attempt.
The best approach is to reload after each failed grab because the game auto-saves on entry. The fish’s pattern is randomized, so focus on grabbing Floatio when it jumps low.
Huge Bridge
Rearrange a sentence to make the bridge huge.
Directly after Floatio in Chapter Four, you’ll reach a page with a puzzle involving singing frogs and changing the time. Use the Metamagic near the Destroyed Bridge, travel back to the Huge Lilypad (created earlier), take the word “Huge,” and return to change “THE BRIDGE WAS BROKEN” to “THE BRIDGE WAS HUGE.”
Important: “THE BRIDGE WAS HUGE” prevents progression. You’ll need to solve the puzzle the intended way afterward.
Cheese Mushrooms
Rearrange a sentence to make some cheese mushrooms.
In Chapter Six – Very Metal, while climbing Mount Trarrg, you’ll meet an angry monster who loves cheese. This is where you can make “Cheese Mushrooms.”
Progress through the puzzle, get the key from under the wooden block, unlock “Metal,” and approach the mushrooms to turn the block into a glowing block. The glowing mushrooms are the key. At the end of the puzzle, grab “Cheese” near the mushrooms and place it to create the phrase.
Star Walker
Retrieve the scroll from the top of the star projector.
This trophy is easily missable! There’s no going back to the 3D worlds after completing the objective. In Chapter Six, at the top of the 3D section (where Zip’s dad’s final metal piece is), climb the star projector. The 29th Art Scroll and the trophy await at the top.
Metal Warrior
Defeat the Mega Eagle.
Unmissable. Earned by defeating the Mega Eagle boss in Chapter Six – Very Metal.
Cheese Pillar
Rearrange a sentence to make a cheese pillar.
During the Gozzy boss fight in Chapter Six, find the Noisy Pillar and Towering Pillar. Return to where you left your “Cheese” (near the “Cheese Mushrooms” puzzle) and bring it here to replace one (or both) words.
Mighty Witch
Defeat the Mage.
Earned in Chapter Eight – Clash at the Castle. Complete Violet’s mini-game and defeat the Mage.
Bust Buster
Rearrange a sentence to blow up Humgrump’s bust.
In Chapter Nine – The Magnificent Humgrump, solve the puzzle with two Metal crates to get the word “Broken.”
After opening the door, you’ll find Humgrump’s diamond bust, which you need to destroy. Use “Broken” on the bust to crack it, then go to the 3D world and use your Bomb Stamp.
Powerful Jot
Fully upgrade Jot’s abilities.
By Chapter Nine, you should have enough light bulbs to buy all upgrades from Martina. This includes all sword throw upgrades, spin attack upgrades, sword upgrades, and base abilities.
WRETCHED RODENT!!!
SIMPLY INFURIATING
Complete all mini-games with Pip. This trophy is unmissable.
Triumphant Squire
Defeat the nefarious sorcerer Humgrump.
The final story-related trophy! You will unlock this one and the “Adventure Complete” / “Story Complete” trophies upon defeating Humgrump.
Congratulations on conquering A Pixel Story! With this guide, you should be well on your way to achieving 100% completion and earning every trophy. Happy gaming!
