This guide provides a step-by-step walkthrough and crucial tips to unlock this achievement. The key is speed and efficiency, so knowing the route and monster behaviors is paramount.
From the starting point in The Pump Station, your goal is to deactivate the pumps and reach the sewers as quickly as possible. Time is of the essence, so minimize any unnecessary exploration or hesitation.
First, you will encounter a hallway. Here, you need to turn off the water valve. After you turn off the water valve, you will proceed through the shallow pool of water.
As you attempt to navigate the shallow pool, the monster will appear. Retreat and hide in the water pouring from the pipe to evade it. Once the monster has moved on, continue through the shallow pool. Proceed to the left into Room B.
Navigate through the shallow pool of water in Room B and drop down into the next pool. Wading through the water, climb the ladder. Head left and ascend a short set of stairs. Follow the catwalk, shimmying across the narrow section, until you find a valve that you can pick up.
Continue along the catwalk, descend the stairs, and turn left to open the fence door. Drop down and re-acquire the valve before passing through the open door. Proceed to the right, past the pool of water, to the yellow pipe against the wall. Place the valve and turn it.
Next, from the valve you just turned, go left and around to the right to walk down the hallway. Shimmy through the narrow area and enter Room A. Go into the water and head left to find the stairway. Follow it to the back wall, where you’ll find another valve on the wall.
Turn this valve and then go to the right (from facing the valve). Drop down back into the water. Then, take the stairways up and around to the left. Continue forward and take the ladder. Crouch to enter the narrow passageway. Reaching the end of this passageway within the 7-minute limit will unlock the trophy.
If you fail to unlock the trophy, immediately load an autosave from before turning the first valve in the hallway between Rooms A and B. This will allow you to retry without losing significant progress. Mastering this route is key to earning the “Road Ahead” trophy in A Quiet Place.
