A Soul’s Bane Quest Guide: Conquer Fear, Rage, and Confusion!

This a soul’s bane quest guide provides a walkthrough for completing the Soul’s Bane quest. Discover tips and strategies to overcome the challenges within.

Requirements:

  • None.

Teleports Used:

  • None

Items Used:

  • Rope
  • Food
  • Good weapon and armor

Length and Difficulty:

  • Short and sweet if you’re above level 80 combat. If you’re lower, you may need a lot of food and good armor.

Start Location:

  • Enter the gate that leads to Morytania and head to the temple used for the ‘Priest in Peril’ quest. Locate the large red crevice just southwest of the gate.

The Crevice and Launa

Find the crevice and speak with Launa, who stands nearby. She will tell you about her son, who disappeared 25 years ago, last heard heading into the crevice. Her husband went looking for him but never returned.

Use a rope on the crevice to climb down and begin your search for Launa’s family.

The Rage Room

Prepare for a nasty-looking place inside, aptly named the Rage Room. You’ll find a weapon rack containing four weapon types. Corresponding to those weapons, four enemy types lurk nearby, each vulnerable to a specific weapon. A fiery exit leads to the next area.

Use the appropriate weapon for each enemy:

  • Sword for the Unicorn
  • Mace for the Rat
  • Axe for the Goblin
  • Spear for the Bear

These enemies hit hard. As you fight, your rage meter will fill. When it’s full, you’ll automatically defeat all the enemies. A cutscene will play depicting Tolna’s past, and the cave entrance will open, revealing the next challenge.

The Fear Room

Another cutscene introduces the Fear Room, a truly scary place. Your task involves searching a series of caves.

WARNING: This part may be disturbing for some players. Be prepared for jump scares.

Check the holes in the wall. Periodically, reapers will suddenly appear on the screen, jump-scaring you. Ignore one specific hole and continue checking the others. About 5 reapers will appear and attack. They are easily defeated with a good weapon and don’t require food or armor.

After defeating the reapers, the black hole will light up. Another cutscene shows Tolna falling into a hole. Leave the Fear Room to proceed.

The Confusion Room

Now, enter the Confusion Room.

This section is one of the strangest in Runescape. The creatures here poison you (1 damage per hit), and you initially cannot damage them.

Attack them anyway. Eventually, you’ll find one that can be damaged. Kill it, and one of the doors will disappear!

Continue attacking creatures until only one door remains. If you picked the wrong door, go through any door to reset the fight. You may need food due to the poison damage. After completing this section, another cutscene will play. Walk through the remaining door to continue.

The Hopelessness Room

You will now enter the Hopelessness Room.

This room features rapid-strike, long-range enemies. Fight them relentlessly until they die. They require three sets of 21 damage each to defeat (their health, not yours).

The Final Encounter

Beyond the Hopelessness Room, you’ll find a bridge. You’re almost done! Run through the cave.

You’ll find Tolna, drastically changed. And how did his father get through all that?

Waste no time. Attack all three heads! They deal significant damage, so Protect from Melee will be essential.

Once the heads are defeated, Tolna will appear. Speak to him; he’ll thank you and bring you out of the crevice.

Talk to Tolna once more to officially complete the quest.

QUEST COMPLETE!

You can re-enter the crevice to fight the enemies you’ve faced previously for training. They are stronger now, but they are vulnerable to any attack style. They don’t drop anything, and it’s not multi-combat. If you die, you die, but it’s good experience.

Conclusion

Congratulations on completing A Soul’s Bane! This a soul’s bane quest guide provided a comprehensive walkthrough to help you navigate the challenges and emerge victorious. Re-enter the crevice to hone your skills, or embark on new adventures in the world of Runescape!
