Bloodborne Trophy Guide: Achieve 100% Completion

Infinite Blood Echoes & Item Duplication Exploit (Patched)

This glitch, once available in earlier versions of Bloodborne, allowed players to duplicate any stackable item using the Hunter’s Dream storage. This exploit could rapidly generate millions of Blood Echoes, enabling players to reach the maximum level (594) and trivialize the game’s difficulty.

Important Note: This exploit was patched in version 1.02 and is no longer functional in updated versions of Bloodborne. To utilize this glitch, players would need to reinstall the game to version 1.00 and play offline to prevent automatic patching.

The method involved these steps:

  1. Create a new character.
  2. With the new character, place a Pebble into the storage in Hunter’s Dream workshop.
  3. Exit the game via the Options menu to return to the title screen.
  4. Load your main character.
  5. Clear out your main character’s storage in Hunter’s Dream.
  6. Place the item you wish to duplicate into storage (one unit is sufficient). For unlimited Blood Echoes, use Coldblood; for upgrade materials, use the desired material.
  7. Deposit Pebbles into storage. They would convert into the duplicated item. Purchase more Pebbles from the merchant and continue depositing them to multiply your chosen item.
  8. Repeat step #7 as needed. To duplicate a different item, repeat steps #5-7.

This exploit was limited to stackable items and did not work for weapons. The glitch needed to be reset after turning off the console or closing the application by repeating steps 2-7.

Hunter’s Essence

Acquire all hunter weapons.

Bloodborne features 26 Hunter Weapons. Collecting all of them unlocks the “Hunter’s Essence” trophy. Found weapons are listed in your inventory under the Weapons tab. There are 15 right-hand melee weapons and 11 left-hand firearms. Equipping them is not necessary; simply acquiring them is enough.

Most weapons require “Hunter Badges” to become available for purchase at the Hunter’s Dream merchant. Some badges unlock multiple weapons simultaneously. Once a badge is obtained, the corresponding weapon can be purchased at any time.

The “Blade of Mercy” and “Burial Blade” are missable weapons. To obtain the Blade of Mercy, you must either defeat Eileen the Crow early in the game or complete her questline. The Burial Blade is acquired by refusing Gehrman’s offer at the game’s end and defeating him in the subsequent boss fight. The Burial Blade then becomes purchasable in New Game+.

Collect all weapons before the final boss fight (indicated when the Hunter’s Dream workshop starts burning) as defeating the final boss immediately initiates New Game+, preventing backtracking. Missed weapons can be acquired in New Game+.

Hunter’s Craft

Acquire all special hunter tools.

There are 9 Special Hunter Tools in Bloodborne. Collecting all of them awards the “Hunter’s Craft” gold trophy. These tools are listed under “Consumables” in your inventory and require a specific Arcane stat to use. They can be used infinitely to cast spells, consuming Quicksilver Bullets.

It’s advisable to gather these tools before confronting the final story boss (when the Hunter’s Dream workshop is ablaze). All tools remain accessible until this point. However, avoid defeating the final boss before collecting them as it triggers New Game+, preventing backtracking. Ensure all areas are accessible by defeating all bosses except the final one.

Hunter Tool Locations Timeline:

  • #1 – Old Hunter Bone (Cathedral Ward) – 0:05
  • #2 – Beast Roar (Forbidden Woods) – 1:28
  • #3 – Empty Phantasm Shell (Byrgenwerth) – 2:37

The Source of the Dream

Discover the abandoned old workshop, the source of the Hunter’s Dream.

The Abandoned Workshop is accessible from the Cathedral Ward after defeating the Blood-Starved Beast in Old Yharnam. A new door opens at the Cathedral Ward spawn point. Go through the right door and take the elevator up. Drop down from a ledge on the right side of the tower into the dark tower with wooden platforms. Roll onto a small platform on the tower wall, ensuring sufficient health to survive the fall. Drop down to the gate, open it, and enter the abandoned workshop area.

The Choir

Gain entry to the realm of the Choir, the high stratum of the Healing Church.

The Realm of the Choir is accessed from Cathedral Ward, but requires the Upper Cathedral Key, found in Yahar’Gul Unseen Village after defeating The One Reborn. From the Yahar’Gul spawn point, follow the left path to an area with a laser-beam-shooting monster. Drop down on the right to find the key. Teleport back to Cathedral Ward, take the right door from the spawn point (requires defeating Blood-Starved Beast), ascend the tower, and open the gate with the key to unlock the trophy.

Cainhurst

Gain entry to Cainhurst, the lost and ruined castle.

To access Cainhurst Castle, obtain the Cainhurst Summons Letter from the clinic where the game begins. This requires navigating through the Forbidden Woods (accessible from Cathedral Ward). Stay left, ascend the hill, traverse the acid swamp, and climb ladders to reach the clinic’s back entrance. Collect the summons and teleport to Hemwick Charnel Lane (accessible from Cathedral Ward). Approach the cliff before the Witch of Hemwick boss fight to trigger a cutscene summoning a carriage. Enter the carriage to reach Cainhurst Castle.

Weapon Master

Acquire a weapon of the highest level.

Upgrade any weapon to level 10 at the Hunter’s Dream workshop to earn this trophy.

Upgrade materials needed:

  • +1 = 3 Blood Stone Shards
  • +2 = 5 Blood Stone Shards
  • +3 = 8 Blood Stone Shards
  • +4 = 3 Twin Blood Stone Shards
  • +5 = 5 Twin Blood Stone Shards
  • +6 = 8 Twin Blood Stone Shards
  • +7 = 3 Blood Stone Chunks
  • +8 = 5 Blood Stone Chunks
  • +9 = 8 Blood Stone Chunks
  • +10 = 1 Blood Rock

Blood Stone Shards, Twin Shards, and Chunks are commonly found through exploration and enemy drops. Blood Rocks are rarer, with one guaranteed location in Mergo’s Loft: Middle. Near the lamp checkpoint, take the outdoor elevator and jump through a window mid-ride. Navigate the Frenzy-inducing enemies, find a lever, and activate it to drop a monster down a tower. The Blood Rock is located inside this tower.

Blood Gem Master

Acquire an extremely precious blood gem.

Defeat the layer 1 boss of the Ailing Loran Dungeon. This boss has a chance to drop a level 15+ blood gem, unlocking the trophy. Obtain the Ailing Loran Chalice by defeating Amygdala in the Nightmare Frontier. If the gem doesn’t drop initially, repeat the dungeon until it does.

Rune Master

Acquire an extremely precious Caryll Rune.

This trophy can be obtained relatively early. After defeating the Blood-Starved Beast in Old Yharnam, go to Cathedral Ward. A new door is open in the lamp checkpoint room. Take the elevator behind it and jump through the window behind you mid-ride. The path leads to a chest containing the “Formless Oedon” Caryll Rune, which increases maximum Quicksilver Bullets by 4.

Cleric Beast

Defeat Cleric Beast.

The Cleric Beast boss fight occurs on the large bridge in Central Yharnam.

  • Character Level: 13
  • Weapon: Hunter Axe (one-handed, no upgrades)

The Cleric Beast, the first boss, is best approached by attacking from behind. Its slow movements make it vulnerable to rear attacks. Counter-attack quickly after being hit to regain health. Oil Urns and Molotov Cocktails can significantly damage it, especially when used in combination.

Father Gascoigne

Defeat Father Gascoigne.

Father Gascoigne is the second boss, fought in the graveyard area of Central Yharnam.

  • Character Level: 13
  • Weapon: Hunter Axe (two-handed, no upgrades)

Molotovs are effective in this fight. Use the two-handed Hunter Axe and charged R2 attacks when Gascoigne approaches, timing the distance correctly to avoid his attacks while landing your own. Counter-attack to regain health after taking damage. In his beast form (around 30% health), switch to Molotovs for rapid damage as melee becomes riskier.

Vicar Amelia

Defeat the beast that once was Vicar Amelia.

Vicar Amelia is the third boss, located in the Cathedral Ward.

  • Character Level: 36
  • Weapon: Hunter Axe (two-handed, +2 upgrades)

Utilize Oil Urns, Molotov Cocktails, Rope Molotov Cocktails, and Numbing Mist. Oil Urns enhance Molotov damage. Rope Molotovs are particularly effective when stamina regenerates. Attack from behind with quick strikes until stamina depletes, then use Rope Molotovs while stamina recovers. Repeat to potentially stun Amelia, allowing for further attacks. When Amelia attempts to heal (golden glow below 30% health), use Numbing Mist or interrupt with attacks/gunshots. Leveling up Strength before this fight is recommended.

The Witch of Hemwick

Defeat the Witch of Hemwick.

The Witch of Hemwick, the fourth boss, is fought in Hemwick Charnel Lane.

  • Character Level: 38
  • Weapon: Hunter Axe (two-handed, +4 upgrades)

This is one of the easiest bosses. Two invisible witches are present. Focus on finding and attacking them. They are slow, have low health, and rarely attack. Ignore the infinitely respawning minions. Attack each witch quickly as you find them. Avoid the blue projectile attack by dodging. When one witch is defeated, the other will revive it after a short delay, so defeat both quickly in succession.

Blood-starved Beast

Defeat Blood-starved Beast.

The Blood-Starved Beast is the fifth boss, located in Old Yharnam.

  • Character Level: 48
  • Weapon: Hunter Axe (one-handed, +6 upgrades)

This boss is relatively easy but uses poison attacks. Equip poison-resistant armor and carry antidotes. Attack aggressively with fast strikes and counter-attack to regain health. Stay clear of poison clouds and use antidotes when poisoned. Heal only when necessary to avoid death. Leveling up Strength and Skill attributes enhances damage output, making this fight quicker. Defeating this boss grants the Pthumeru Chalice, used for Chalice Dungeons.

Darkbeast Paarl

Defeat Darkbeast Paarl.

Darkbeast Paarl, the sixth boss, is found in Hypogean Gaol.

  • Character Level: 48
  • Weapon: Hunter Axe (two-handed, +6 upgrades)

Use a weapon with good reach like the two-handed Hunter Axe. Target Paarl’s legs to break its electric charge and stun it. Once stunned, unleash heavy attacks. Focus on quickly damaging the legs to keep it stunned and defenseless.

Shadow of Yharnam

Defeat Shadow of Yharnam.

The Shadow of Yharnam, the seventh boss, is fought in the Forbidden Woods.

  • Character Level: 49
  • Weapon: Hunter Axe (two-handed, +6 upgrades)

This boss fight involves three enemies. Prioritize eliminating the fireball-throwing enemy first, then the katana-wielding enemy, and lastly the one with the burning katana. Expect to dodge frequently as their attacks are fast and damaging. Utilize the two-handed Hunter Axe’s charged R2 attack (Axe Swing) to hit multiple enemies simultaneously and create openings. Use the large stone on the right side for cover to heal when needed.

Rom, the Vacuous Spider

Defeat Great One: Rom, the Vacuous Spider.

Rom, the Vacuous Spider, the eighth boss, is located in Byrgenwerth (accessible after defeating Shadow of Yharnam).

  • Character Level: 59
  • Weapon: Hunter Axe (two-handed, +6 upgrades)

Prioritize Vitality for this fight; at least 900 health is recommended. Equip the Clockwise Metamorphosis Caryll Rune for a 5% health boost. Rom is guarded by smaller spiders. Be aggressive, run past the small spiders, and attack Rom from the side or back. Avoid direct confrontation. High damage output is beneficial to minimize Rom’s AOE attacks and meteorites. Rom teleports after taking damage. Locate Rom again after each teleport. When Rom stands, meteorites fall from the sky; when Rom rolls onto its back, they come from the ground. Ignore the small spiders and focus attacks on Rom’s side. Heal when necessary.

The One Reborn

Defeat the One Reborn.

The One Reborn, the ninth boss, is in Yahar’gul, Unseen Village (accessible after defeating Rom).

  • Character Level: 60
  • Weapon: Hunter Axe (two-handed, +8 upgrades)

The One Reborn can be stunned by attacking its legs, particularly the smaller legs at the back. Use a weapon with good reach, such as the two-handed Hunter Axe, and repeatedly use R2 attacks on the legs. Invest in Vitality and Strength to withstand hits and deal significant damage. Pillars at the arena’s sides offer cover for healing. Roll away when legs glow red to avoid damage. Stay mobile to evade fireballs and projectiles.

Micolash, Host of the Nightmare

Defeat Micolash, Host of the Nightmare.

Micolash, Host of the Nightmare, the tenth boss, is found in Mergo’s Loft (accessible after defeating The One Reborn).

  • Character Level: 66
  • Weapon: Hunter Axe (one-handed, +9 upgrades)

Micolash is one of the easiest bosses with weak, easily dodged attacks. In the initial phase, follow him into a side room by approaching from the opposite corridor end. He primarily uses a weak magic attack here. Strafe sideways to evade it completely and counter-attack during his recovery. After taking damage, he teleports. Chase him upstairs, where he enters a room and closes the gate. Drop into this room from above. He gains a projectile attack in this phase, but it’s still weak. Repeat the previous strategy of evading attacks and counter-attacking. Ignore the minions throughout the fight.

Mergo’s Wet Nurse

Defeat Great One: Mergo’s Wet Nurse.

Mergo’s Wet Nurse, the eleventh boss, is located at the top of Mergo’s Loft (accessible after defeating Micolash).

  • Character Level: 68
  • Weapon: Hunter Axe (one-handed, +9 upgrades)

Lock onto the Wet Nurse (R3) and dodge sideways to stay behind her. Counter-attack after dodging her attacks. During her rapid blade strikes, she’s vulnerable from behind; use charged R2 attacks. Defeat her quickly to prevent her clone summoning. If the clone appears, focus on dodging both until it disappears. Bring ample health potions as her spin attack deals significant damage. Maintain maximum health.

Martyr Logarius

Defeat Martyr Logarius.

Martyr Logarius, the twelfth boss, is located on the rooftop of Forsaken Castle Cainhurst.

  • Character Level: 71
  • Weapon: Hunter Axe (two-handed, +9 upgrades)

Reach Cainhurst Castle and navigate to the rooftop. Logarius is agile with diverse attacks. Avoid charged R2 attacks as he’s likely to counter with his exploding skull spell. Use quick strikes and dodge effectively. Utilize the health recovery system by counter-attacking after minor damage. For significant damage, heal behind cover. Visceral Attacks are effective when he’s stunned. Early in the fight, attack when he casts red skulls, running towards him and attacking. Sidestep his sword attacks and aim to get behind him for counter-attacks.

Amygdala

Defeat Great One: Amygdala.

Amygdala, the thirteenth boss, is found in the Nightmare Frontier (after the acid swamps).

  • Character Level: 73
  • Weapon: Hunter Axe (two-handed, +9 upgrades)

Nightmare Frontier is accessed from the Lecture Building 2nd Floor. Amygdala is relatively easy at level 70+. Her head is her weak point. Attack her head when she lowers it. Arms are also vulnerable, but legs are armored. Stand near her legs to evade most attacks aimed at her arms. Attack after she misses. With sufficient health (1000+) and health potions, this fight is straightforward.

Celestial Emissary

Defeat Great One: Celestial Emissary.

Celestial Emissary, the fourteenth boss, is in the Upper Cathedral Ward (Realm of the Choir).

  • Character Level: 74
  • Weapon: Hunter Axe (two-handed, +10 upgrades)

This is an optional, hidden boss. Reach the Upper Cathedral Ward, enter the dark room with werewolves, ascend the ladder, and defeat the white creatures for the Orphanage Key. Use the key in the werewolf room to access the Celestial Emissary. Use the fully upgraded two-handed Hunter Axe. The boss summons minions. Use charged R2 attacks to eliminate both minions and the boss simultaneously. The boss is initially hidden amongst the minions; attack to quickly deplete its health.

Ebrietas, Daughter of the Cosmos

Defeat Great One: Ebrietas, Daughter of the Cosmos.

Ebrietas, Daughter of the Cosmos, the fifteenth boss, is also in the Upper Cathedral Ward (Realm of the Choir), optional and hidden.

  • Character Level: 74
  • Weapon: Hunter Axe (two-handed, +10 upgrades)

Reach the Upper Cathedral Ward and defeat Celestial Emissary. In the same boss room, break the window near the lamp checkpoint and drop onto the balcony. The path leads to Ebrietas. Stay behind Ebrietas to evade most attacks, except laser beams (dodge roll). Maintain close proximity behind her. If caught in front, she can inflict heavy damage (600+). Heal while behind her. Use charged R2 attacks. Electricity is her weakness; consider using Bolt Paper. Defeating Ebrietas grants the Chalice of Isz and two bronze trophies.

Yharnam, Pthumerian Queen

Defeat Yharnam, Blood Queen of the Old Labyrinth.

Yharnam, Pthumerian Queen, is the final boss of the Pthumeru Ihyll Chalice Dungeon (layer 3).

  • Recommended Character Level: 120+
  • Recommended Weapon: Hunter Axe (one-handed, +10 upgrades) or similar high single-hit damage weapon.

Reaching the Ihyll Dungeon is lengthy. Obtain the Pthumeru Chalice (Blood-Starved Beast) and Ailing Loran Chalice (Amygdala). Complete these Chalice Dungeons in order:

  1. Pthumeru Chalice (3 layers)
  2. Central Pthumeru Chalice (3 layers)
  3. Lower Pthumeru Chalice (4 layers)
  4. Ailing Loran Chalice (obtain “Bastard of Loran” and exit, dungeon completion not necessary for progression)
  5. Defiled Chalice (3 layers)
  6. Pthumeru Ihyll Chalice (3 layers)

The Pthumerian Queen is the final boss of the last dungeon layer. Chalices for next dungeons are dropped by final layer bosses. Materials for Chalice Rituals are found within dungeons, except for the “Living String,” obtained from a secret enemy in Mergo’s Loft.

For the fight, hit twice, back off, dodge her attack, and repeat. Avoid over-committing to attacks. When she summons clones, eliminate them first. She primarily uses blood attacks; equip blood-resistant armor (Knight’s Set). The strategy remains consistent throughout the fight.

Yharnam Sunrise

You lived through the hunt, and saw another day.

To achieve this ending, submit your life to Gehrman in Hunter’s Dream. The gate in Hunter’s Dream opens after defeating Mergo’s Wet Nurse. Back up your save before speaking to Gehrman as this action triggers New Game+.

Honoring Wishes

Captivated by the Moon Presence, you pledge to watch over the Hunter’s Dream.

Gehrman, the First Hunter, is the final boss for this ending, fought in Hunter’s Dream. Defeating him unlocks the “Honoring Wishes” trophy.

  • Character Level: 84
  • Weapon: Hunter Axe (two-handed, +10 upgrades)

Gehrman is behind the gate in Hunter’s Dream, accessible after Mergo’s Wet Nurse and when the workshop burns. He is a challenging boss. Recommended health is 1200+. Utilize the Axe Swing (R2) strategy, letting him walk into the swing and repeating as he gets up. Timing is crucial. In the final phase (green aura), he cannot be stunned. Save health potions for this phase. Runes that increase health potion capacity are helpful.

Childhood’s Beginning

You became an infant Great One, lifting humanity into its next childhood.

Moon Presence is the secret final boss. Consume 3 Umbilical Cords and defeat Gehrman to trigger this fight and earn the “Childhood’s Beginning” trophy.

  • Character Level: 100
  • Weapon: Hunter Axe (two-handed, +10 upgrades)

Collect 3 of the 4 Umbilical Cords:

  1. Mergo’s Wet Nurse (automatic drop).
  2. Old Abandoned Workshop (Cathedral Ward access).
  3. Clinic in Iosefka’s Clinic (back entrance from Forbidden Woods, kill imposter Iosefka).
  4. Missable: Arianna’s Child. Before Vicar Amelia, send Arianna (Cathedral Ward) to Cathedral (not Clinic). After Mergo’s Wet Nurse, find her child in Cathedral basement (Oedon Tomb connection) and kill it. Missable if Vicar Amelia is defeated before sending Arianna to Cathedral.

Consume Cords before speaking to Gehrman. The Moon Presence fight is relatively easy. Stay behind her and attack during her idle moments. If you die, you respawn at Hunter’s Dream and can retry without re-fighting Gehrman.
