With her limited-time banner featured during phase two of the 1.1 update, players have the perfect opportunity to embark on her engaging Companion Story Quest, “Immortal Blaze.” This quest provides a deep dive into Changli’s backstory, enriching your understanding of her personality and motivations.

While Changli is still awaiting fully synergistic team compositions, she performs exceptionally well with a variety of characters, making her a valuable addition to any roster.

Like many of the captivating companion quests in Wuthering Waves, “Immortal Blaze” is filled with compelling cutscenes, a unique narrative, and intriguing puzzles and mysteries that enhance the overall gaming experience. Completing this quest not only expands your knowledge of Changli but also rewards you with valuable items and further insights into the game’s expansive lore. Here’s a comprehensive guide to help you navigate and successfully complete the Immortal Blaze quest.

Unlocking the Immortal Blaze Quest

The Immortal Blaze quest becomes automatically available starting July 22, 2024. To unlock it, you must first complete Chapter 1 – Act 7 of the main story quest, “Thaw of Eons.” Once this is done, head to the designated location in Hongzhen. You will trigger a cutscene upon arrival, initiating a brief interaction with Changli where she requests you meet her at a specific location.

Finding the Ring and Hanging Eaves Location

After your initial conversation with Changli and subsequent dialogues with NPCs in the vicinity, including the Suspicious Spectator and Xinyi, your next objective is to locate a place described as being “next to a ring and hanging eaves.” This location is marked on your map, but surprisingly, many players find this step to be one of the trickier parts of the quest without explicit guidance.

A well-optimized Changli, equipped with the right build, transforms her into a formidable Fusion unit capable of unleashing devastating damage.

To pinpoint the correct spot, move north from the quest marker and begin climbing the building roof situated next to the mountain, as indicated on the map. Utilize grapple points along the way to expedite your ascent. Upon reaching the highest rooftop of this building, you’ll encounter a glowing marker, triggering another cutscene. This scene will panoramically reveal a ring-shaped ancient structure. Following this, a new marker will appear near the Pavilion. Set your in-game clock to sometime between 13:00 and 15:00 to meet Changli at this newly marked location and continue the quest.

Immortal Blaze Quest Walkthrough

After meeting Changli at the Pavilion, engage in an extended dialogue with her. The subsequent phase of the quest involves traveling alongside Changli and interacting with various NPCs within Mt. Firmament. This part of the quest is relatively straightforward, mainly involving dialogue and exploration. Completing the entire quest, without skipping dialogues, should take approximately two hours.

After visiting several locations and conversing with NPCs, you will be directed to a cave in Loong’s Ridge. Inside, you must combat enemies and rescue an explorer trapped within.
Following the rescue and dialogue, return to Hongzhen to inquire about the explorer from different NPCs. Eventually, you will encounter a young woman named Fuling, leading to another lengthy dialogue between her and the rescued explorer, Wuli.
After further dialogue with Fuling, report your findings to Xinyi.
Next, return to the cave near the Tianqu Tree, the location of your initial encounter with Wuli.
This time, you’ll spend more time thoroughly investigating the area. Interact with various objects as you progress deeper into the cave until you discover a broken Weiqi board.
Utilize the Chronosorter device nearby and adjust the marker to the far left. This action will repair the Weiqi board, causing mirage NPCs to materialize. As you interact with these mirages, you will be interrupted by Fractsidus enemies. Prepare for combat! In this battle, you’ll have the opportunity to use a trial version of Changli. Upon defeating the enemies, another cutscene will play, transporting you into the Sonoro Sphere portal.

A significant portion of the quest unfolds within the Sonoro Sphere, requiring you to solve a series of puzzles. Inside, you’ll meet a young girl who becomes your companion as you progress through the sphere after an initial dialogue.

Solving the Puzzle with the Little Girl / Finding a Way to Enter Together

Progression through this section involves activating pressure plates in a coordinated manner. To solve the first puzzle, step onto the pressure plate on the left side while the little girl stands on the right side. This will unlock the door ahead. Proceed through the opened doorway, where you will face another wave of enemies. Defeat them to continue. Subsequently, use the flaming flower and your leviator to clear the path by burning the obstructing branches. Engage and defeat another set of enemies before moving further into the area. Take advantage of the supply boxes scattered around to collect resources as you advance and investigate interactive items.

For the next segment, you’ll encounter another pressure plate puzzle requiring teamwork with the little girl to proceed. To solve this, interact with the little girl and instruct her to stand on the device. This action will open the door. Once open, use the Chronosorter located inside the room and move its marker all the way to the right. This will keep the door open, allowing the little girl to follow you inside automatically.

Some players have reported a bug where the little girl does not follow after using the Chronosorter. If you encounter this issue, restarting your game can resolve it. Upon restarting, speak to the girl again and retry the Chronosorter mechanism to continue.

Following this, prepare to confront a Tacet Discord enemy within the next room before reaching the area where you will solve light mechanism puzzles.

Connecting the Light Beams Inside Mechanism 1 & 2 Walkthrough

Investigate the mechanism to begin the light beam puzzle. Your goal is to rotate the prisms to connect the light beam from the starting point to the endpoint by strategically reflecting it through the prisms.

Mechanism 1 Solution:

Rotate the first prism twice.
Leave the second prism as is.
Rotate the third prism once.
Rotate the fourth prism three times.

Completing these rotations will solve the puzzle, allowing you to proceed. Investigate the familiar mirage that appears, which will shift your perspective to Changli’s viewpoint. Play as Changli, advancing forward while defeating Tacet Discords in your path. Clear the roadblock using the flaming flower once again. After a brief dialogue, you will face the second light beam mechanism, this time from Changli’s perspective.

Mechanism 2 is slightly more complex but still manageable. You will need to use the Levitator to reposition some light prisms before rotating them to direct the light beam correctly.

Mechanism 2 Solution:

Activate the starting point and rotate the first prism once.
Pick up the prism near the second spot and place it where the light is currently reflecting. Rotate this newly placed prism twice.
Rotate the next prism three times.
Grab the other prism and place it in the corner by the stone rubble, where the light should reflect next. No rotation is needed for this prism.
Following the light’s path, rotate the fourth prism once.
Rotate the next prism once.
Rotate the one after that three times.
Rotate the subsequent prism once.
Finally, rotate the last prism three times to connect to the endpoint.

Solving this mechanism will trigger another extended cutscene, advancing the quest narrative. Continue forward, collect the supply box along the path, and proceed through the newly opened door. Prepare to battle the Chrono Shadow to exit the Chrono Sphere. This enemy has two HP bars, so be ready for a slightly prolonged fight. Upon defeating the Chrono Shadow, another cutscene will play, after which you will exit the domain and engage in dialogue with Fuling, Wuli, and Xinyi.

Resting for a While (Two Days)

To progress to the final stage of the quest, you must advance the in-game time by at least two full days. The specific hour is not important. After advancing the time, return to Hongzhen and speak with Xinyi to inquire about Changli’s whereabouts. Xinyi will direct you to the agreed meeting location near the Tianqu Tree. Head there to meet Changli for a final dialogue and an ending cutscene, officially completing the Immortal Blaze quest.

Upon completion of Immortal Blaze, the Lores Beyond the Ranges world quest, which was previously missing from the exploration progress for Mt. Firmament, will become available and automatically trigger, offering further content to explore.

Immortal Blaze Quest Rewards

Successfully completing the Immortal Blaze quest will reward you with a total of 2000 Union EXP, 140 Asterite, and various other valuable resources, including Shell Credits, Advanced Resonance Potions, and Advanced Energy Cores. Additionally, you will unlock the Deserted Trail Trophy, granting you an extra 10 Asterites as a bonus achievement.

Congratulations! You have successfully completed Changli’s Immortal Blaze quest in Wuthering Waves, deepening your connection with Changli and uncovering more of the game’s rich narrative.
