I am a US Coast Guard licensed and insured full-time fishing guide specializing in Table Rock Lake and Lake Taneycomo. I target Bass, Trout, and Spoonbill, utilizing deep-water fishing tactics with a variety of live and artificial baits. With over 40 years of fishing experience, I’ve honed the skills necessary to teach you how to locate and catch the fish you desire. Families with children of all ages are welcome aboard my boat for a fun-filled day of fishing, learning, and relaxation in the scenic Ozark Mountains. Let me share a bit about my background so you know who you’ll be fishing with. My journey began in Kansas City, casting lines for crappie, bass, and trout in the diverse lakes, strip pits, and ponds of Missouri and Kansas.
Young Don House’s early fishing experiences shaped his lifelong passion for angling and conservation.
Growing up, I frequented Bennett Springs State Park, pursuing rainbow trout with flies, fly rods, and, of course, cheese balls – a nod to my Mom and Dad’s influence. My parents believed in keeping their sons engaged in activities like fishing, camping, and Boy Scouts (all three of us achieved the rank of Eagle Scout). Unbeknownst to them, they were nurturing a passion that would lead me to a life as a professional fishing guide. This commitment to outdoor activities instilled values and a deep appreciation for nature that guides my work today.
After college, I spent over 25 years in the computer industry, designing and installing computer networks across the US. To unwind from the stresses of the business world, I would take clients fishing and participate in fishing tournaments. Following the sale of a computer company where I was a part-owner, I felt it was time for a change. My family and I relocated from Kansas City to the Branson area, pursuing our dream of living on Table Rock Lake, and Branson Fishing Guide Service was born. This transition allowed me to combine my business acumen with my lifelong passion.
