With over 40 years of fishing experience, I have honed the skills necessary to teach you how to locate and catch the fish you desire. A Glimpse into My Fishing Journey
Let me share a bit about my background so you know who you’ll be fishing with. My fishing journey began in my youth in Kansas City, where I fished for crappie, bass, and trout in the Missouri and Kansas lakes, strip pits, and ponds.
I have fond memories of fishing for rainbow trout with flies, fly rods, and cheese balls at Bennett Springs State Park. My parents encouraged my brothers and me to engage in activities like fishing, camping, and Boy Scouts, all of which instilled in us a love for the outdoors. Little did they realize that they were nurturing a passion that would lead me to pursue fishing as a career. Don’s Guide Service is all about sharing that passion with you.
From Computers to Casting Lines
After graduating from college, I dedicated over 25 years to the computer industry, designing and installing computer networks across the US. To unwind from the demands of the corporate world, I would often take clients fishing and participate in fishing tournaments.
Following the sale of a computer company where I was a partner, I decided it was time for a change. My family and I relocated from Kansas City to the Branson area to realize our dream of living on Table Rock Lake and establishing Don’s Guide Service. I am a hardworking individual who believes in God, enjoys life, and has a deep passion for working as a fishing guide!
