Are you looking to master the art of Enchanting in Classic World of Warcraft? This Enchanting Guide will provide you with the fastest and easiest path to level your Enchanting skill from 1 to 300.

If you’re still considering a complementary profession, Enchanting pairs exceptionally well with Tailoring. Neither profession requires a gathering skill to support it, and you can disenchant items crafted through Tailoring to obtain materials for Enchanting. If you’re also interested in leveling Tailoring, check out our Classic Tailoring Leveling Guide.

For those still on their journey to level 60 or starting a new character, we highly recommend Zygor’s 1-60 Leveling Guide. It’s a fantastic resource to expedite your leveling process and reach level 60 much faster.

Leveling Your Enchanting Skill in Classic

Follow this step-by-step enchanting guide to efficiently level your skill.

Skill Level 1 – 50

Becoming a Journeyman Enchanter

To progress your Enchanting skill beyond 75, you need to become a Journeyman Enchanter. Note that not all Enchanting trainers offer this advanced skill; you’ll need to seek out an Expert Enchanter. This upgrade is available at character level 10. This enchanting guide highlights the trainers below.

You can learn Journeyman Enchanting from these NPCs:

Horde Trainers:

Alliance Trainers:

Skill Level 50 – 110

Skill Level 110 – 135

Purchase these recipes: Formula: Enchant Bracer – Lesser Strength and Formula: Enchant Cloak – Minor Agility. These are sold by Kulwia (Horde) in Stonetalon Mountains, or Dalria (Alliance) in Ashenvale.

These recipes are limited in supply. If they are sold out, you’ll need to wait for them to respawn, which usually takes between 30-50 minutes. Patience is key when using this enchanting guide.

Alternative Recipe

Consider this alternative if Lesser Astral Essence is expensive on your server and Small Glimmering Shards are more affordable.

Becoming an Expert Enchanter

To become an Expert Enchanter, you must reach character level 20 and Enchanting skill level 125. Then, seek out an Expert Enchanting trainer.

There is only one Expert Enchanting trainer per faction. For the Alliance, it’s Kitta Firewind in Elwynn Forest, located at the top of the Tower of Azora. For the Horde, it’s Hgarth in Stonetalon Mountains at Sun Rock Retreat, up a steep, less obvious path on the hill. This enchanting guide reminds you to travel to these specific locations.

Skill Level 135 – 156

  • Skill Level 155-156: 1x Runed Golden Rod
    • Requires: 1 Golden Rod, 1 Iridescent Pearl, 2 Greater Astral Essence, 2 Soul Dust

Skill Level 156 – 185

Refer back to the “110-135” step for recipe location, as this enchanting guide reuses recipes for efficiency.

Alternative Recipe

If Lesser Mystic Essence is significantly cheaper than 2x Soul Dust, you can switch to this recipe around skill level 165.

Skill Level 185 – 225

Training Enchanting Beyond 225

To become an Artisan Enchanter, you need to reach character level 35 and an Enchanting skill level of 200. Then, find the Artisan Enchanting trainer.

Annora in Uldaman is the sole Artisan Enchanting trainer. She is the only NPC who can teach you Artisan Enchanting. This enchanting guide emphasizes the importance of finding Annora.

Annora teaches several recipes exclusive to her, so bring enough gold to learn all recipes and sufficient enchanting materials to reach Enchanting skill 250. This will save you a return trip to Uldaman for higher-level recipes.

Learning all recipes from Annora will cost approximately 11.79 Gold. Around 200 Vision Dust should suffice to reach Enchanting skill level 250.

How to Enter Uldaman

Uldaman is located in the Badlands. It has two entrances; use the back entrance for quicker access to Annora.

Reaching Annora at level 35 solo can be challenging. Consider forming a party or asking a level 60 player for assistance. This enchanting guide suggests teamwork for this part.

Annora’s Location Inside Uldaman

Annora will only appear after you eliminate all enemies in her area! Clear the surrounding mobs to make her spawn.

Enchanting Artisan (Skill Level 225-300)

Skill Level 225 – 250

Remember to learn all available recipes from Annora before leaving Uldaman! This enchanting guide cannot stress this enough.

Search the Auction House for Formula: Enchant Bracer – Greater Stamina. This world drop recipe is excellent for leveling Enchanting from 245 to 265, or even up to 285.

Skill Level 250 – 265

  • 20x Lesser Mana Oil
    • Requires: 60 Dream Dust, 40 Purple Lotus, 20 Crystal Vial

You can continue crafting Lesser Mana Oil up to skill level 270 if Purple Lotus is inexpensive on your server.

Kania in Silithus sells the Formula: Lesser Mana Oil. She is located upstairs in the inn. This enchanting guide provides vendor locations for convenience.

Season of Discovery Alternative Recipe

The NPC vendor for Lesser Mana Oil may not be available in Season of Discovery Phase 3. Use this alternative recipe:

Skill Level 265 – 294

The recipe is sold by Daniel Bartlett in Undercity and Mythrin’dir in Darnassus.

IMPORTANT! The recipe is Bind on Pickup! Do not attempt to purchase it with an alternate character and mail it. It is also limited in supply, so you may need to wait if it’s sold out. This enchanting guide wants to prevent common mistakes.

Skill Level 294 – 295

  • 1x Runed Arcanite Rod
    • Requires: 1 Arcanite Rod, 1 Golden Pearl, 10 Illusion Dust, 4 Greater Eternal Essence, 4 Small Brilliant Shard, 2 Large Brilliant Shard

Formula: Runed Arcanite Rod is sold by Lorelae Wintersong in Moonglade at Nighthaven. She also sells the next recipe, so purchase both while you are there. This enchanting guide advises efficient vendor visits.

Skill Level 295 – 300

Formula: Enchant Cloak – Superior Defense is also sold by Lorelae Wintersong in Moonglade at Nighthaven.

Alternatively, continue crafting Enchant Shield: Greater Stamina if you have a surplus of Dream Dust, or if Illusion Dust is prohibitively expensive.

Congratulations on reaching Enchanting skill level 300! We hope this enchanting guide has been helpful. Please send feedback regarding this guide if you have suggestions for improvement, find any errors, typos, or incorrect material quantities!
