Time really does fly! It’s been quite a while since Disney XD’s Gamer’s Guide to Pretty Much Everything first graced our screens in July 2015. The show quickly became a favorite, and fans have watched the stars grow up since then.
For those who need a quick refresher, Gamer’s Guide revolved around Conor, a professional video game whiz, played by the unforgettable Cameron Boyce. After an injury sidelines him from the pro gaming circuit, he navigates the unfamiliar territory of public school. Luckily, he’s not alone. He teams up with three school friends – Ashley, Wendell, and Franklin – to strategize his comeback to the competitive gaming world and aim for the ultimate prize: the World Gaming Pro Championship. The cast was rounded out by talented actors Sophie Reynolds, Murray Wyatt Rundus, and Felix Avitia.

In a 2016 interview with StarryMag, Sophie Reynolds reflected on what drew her to her character, Ashley. “When I first read the script, I was instantly excited. During auditions, I remember connecting with the script and really loving Ashley. I saw a lot of myself in her and loved the prospect of playing her,” Sophie shared. “Ashley is such a fun, sweet character with a vibrant personality. She’s an amazing video gamer and an incredibly loyal friend. I especially love her feisty spirit. Ashley never backs down from a challenge and always stands up for herself and her friends.”
Although Gamer’s Guide concluded after two seasons on January 2, 2017, its impact remains. Sophie highlighted the show’s unique appeal, noting, “The show incorporates this fantastic element where video games come to life, and the skills needed for gaming success are applied to solve everyday life problems. It’s so entertaining and offers something for every member of the family.”
Fans fondly remember the close bond between Sophie and Cameron even after the show ended. They became roommates in May 2019. Following Cameron’s untimely passing in July of that year, Sophie shared a touching tribute on social media. “Maybe someday I’ll find the words to fully express who Cam was, but right now, the pain is still too raw,” she wrote.

Cameron Boyce’s Legacy
The world mourned the heartbreaking loss of Cameron when he tragically passed away on July 6, 2019, following a seizure in his sleep. He was only 20 years old. Cameron had been diagnosed with epilepsy.
Before his untimely death, Cameron had built an impressive resume with roles in Jessie, Steps, the Descendants film series, Runt, and the posthumously released Paradise City. Beyond acting, Cameron was deeply committed to philanthropy, using his platform to support numerous charitable causes. His passion for giving back and his vibrant spirit ensure he remains unforgettable.

Since her role as Ashley, Sophie Reynolds has continued to build a successful acting career. She has appeared in a variety of projects, including TV series like Youth & Consequences, Prince of Peoria, and L.A.’s Finest. She also lent her voice to animated series such as The Lion Guard and Big Hero 6: The Series, demonstrating her versatility as a performer.

Felix Avitia’s Current Projects
After portraying Franklin, Felix Avitia continued to pursue acting, with roles in Speechless and Pete the Cat. Adding to his artistic endeavors, Felix has also focused on his singing and performance career. In March 2020, he celebrated completing his role as Jack Kelly in the musical Newsies, highlighting his talent across different entertainment mediums.

It appears that Murray Wyatt Rundus has chosen to step away from the limelight since Gamer’s Guide to Pretty Much Everything concluded. While he made a brief appearance in an episode of Young Sheldon, he hasn’t had any acting credits since 2017. Murray seems to be enjoying a more private life away from the entertainment industry.
