Tammy and Jonathan had just celebrated their marriage, following the annulment of Jonathan’s previous marriage to Lizzie. Jonathan also secured custody of baby Sarah. Distraught, Lizzie turned to Alan for assistance in regaining custody of her daughter. Alan advised Lizzie to request a meeting with Jonathan under the pretense of returning Sarah. A few days later, Tammy succumbed to her injuries and died. Jonathan did obtain custody of baby Sarah, but Alan remained obsessed with taking her back. Following Tammy’s funeral, Jonathan orchestrated his own staged death by driving his car off a cliff. Reva witnessed the car plunging into the abyss and burning, falsely believing that Jonathan and Sarah were inside. This elaborate scheme led nearly everyone to believe Jonathan was dead.
Hours later, Jonathan visited his bar where he confided in Reva, revealing the truth about his plan. He entrusted her with the secret that he and Sarah were alive and instructed her not to disclose their existence to anyone for their own safety. Jonathan further explained that they would return to Springfield when Alan was no longer a threat.
