OSRS Ironman Guide: Efficient Goals After Barrows Gloves

After securing your Barrows gloves in Old School RuneScape (OSRS) Ironman mode, you’ve overcome a significant early-game hurdle. But what comes next to ensure efficient progression? This guide outlines key objectives to propel your Ironman account forward effectively.

Mining should become a priority, initially aiming for level 60, but ideally reaching level 70. While 60 Mining unlocks necessary content, achieving 70 Mining is highly recommended for “Making Friends with My Arm” quest (requiring 72 Mining, boostable with dwarven stout (m)). Furthermore, level 70 Mining aids in completing the Fremennik Hard Diary early, granting access to the herb patch shortcut at Jatizso. An efficient method to train Mining is filling the sandstone grinder at Yanille with approximately 25,000 buckets of sand. Prepare by bringing 8 waterskins, dropping them as they deplete to save inventory space, and integrating birdhouse runs between mining trips for passive Hunter and Prayer experience. Continue with your preferred mining method to reach level 70.

For melee slayer tasks in the interim, a Strength amulet is a viable alternative to a Glory amulet, often proving equally effective, or even superior in certain scenarios, in terms of damage output. Utilize a Strength amulet to conserve resources and optimize your early slayer training.

When engaging in slayer, prioritize Strength training initially. A balanced approach to melee stats is recommended, aiming for approximately 65 Attack, 80 Strength, and 65 Defence. After establishing this foundation, incrementally train each combat skill by around 5 levels before rotating to the next, ensuring well-rounded melee progression for your Ironman.

Consider employing Turael boosting for slayer points up to around 150 tasks. Integrate every tenth task from Konar quo Maten to access diverse slayer locations and broaden your task variety for unlocking valuable slayer rewards and optimizing your block list. While Turael boosting is suggested for early optimization, feel free to adapt your slayer training approach to personal preference.

Hard clue scrolls offer significant GP per hour at this stage of Ironman progression. If you receive hard clue steps requiring crafting blue d’hide armor, prioritize training Crafting using the Superglass Make lunar spell. Crafting blue d’hide not only fulfills clue requirements but also provides valuable ranged armor for your account.

Strategically allocate slayer points to enhance your slayer experience. Prioritize unlocking Superior Slayer encounters to maximize experience gains and rare drops. Next, curate your block list to eliminate undesirable tasks. Extend the duration of your preferred and efficient slayer tasks. Acquire the Slayer ring for convenient teleports and the Slayer helmet for combat bonuses. Finally, unlock Gargoyle Smasher to efficiently handle gargoyle tasks.

Around the point your melee stats reach 65 Attack, 80 Strength, and 65 Defence, consider undertaking the Dragon Slayer II quest. While achievable at lower combat stats, completing Dragon Slayer II with these recommended levels will make the final boss fight against Vorkath significantly more manageable and less frustrating.

By focusing on these goals after acquiring Barrows gloves, you’ll establish a robust foundation for mid-game progression on your OSRS Ironman account, paving the way for further challenges and achievements.
