Lingyang Guide: Mastering the Striding Lion Combat Style

Lingyang is a dynamic character whose combat prowess in battle hinges on understanding and utilizing his Lion’s Spirit and unique attack states. This guide will break down Lingyang’s key abilities, helping you unleash his full potential.

His combat style is centered around two core attack types: the powerful Heavy Attack and the versatile Mid-air Attack, each influenced by his Lion’s Spirit gauge. When Lion’s Spirit is full, Lingyang can unleash Heavy Attack: Glorious Plunge, a devastating move that deals Glacio DMG, making it a cornerstone of his offensive strategy.

When Lion’s Spirit is not fully charged, initiating a Basic Attack immediately after a Heavy Attack triggers Mid-air Attack: Tail Strike. This also deals Glacio DMG and provides a crucial combo option when you need to adapt your attack strategy based on Spirit levels.

A central mechanic to Lingyang’s gameplay is the Striding Lion state. This state is activated after a successful Heavy Attack Glorious Plunge. It can also be entered after using the Intro Skill Lion Awakens or Resonance Liberation Strive: Lion’s Vigor, provided Lion’s Spirit is full, by using a Basic Attack. In the Striding Lion state, Lingyang gains the ability to attack in mid-air and can return to the air from the ground using Heavy Attack Glorious Plunge.

During Striding Lion, Lion’s Spirit is continuously consumed. The state naturally lasts for 5 seconds once the Spirit depletes. However, activating Resonance Liberation Lion’s Vigor reduces Spirit consumption by 50%, extending the Striding Lion state by up to 10 seconds, allowing for prolonged aerial combat sequences. While in Striding Lion, Lingyang’s Basic Attack transforms into Basic Attack Feral Gyrate, a rapid sequence of up to two Glacio DMG attacks. His Resonance Skill also changes to Mountain Roamer, delivering further Glacio DMG.

When Lion’s Spirit dwindles to less than 10, using Basic Attack executes Stormy Kicks, dealing Glacio DMG. Successfully landing Stormy Kicks unlocks Mid-air Attack Radiant Plunge, adding another aerial attack option to his arsenal. Importantly, Concerto Energy is restored as Lion’s Spirit is consumed, ensuring a cyclical flow of combat resources.

Managing Lion’s Spirit is key to mastering Lingyang. His maximum Spirit capacity is 100. Spirit is replenished by using Resonance Skill Furious Punches, Intro Skill Lion Awakens, and Resonance Liberation Strive: Lion’s Vigor. Strategic use of these skills is essential to maintain high Lion’s Spirit levels and consistently access his most powerful attacks and the Striding Lion state.
