Majora’s Mask Fishing Guide: Catch Every Fish!

So you’re aiming to be the top angler in Termina? You’ve come to the right place! Catching every fish in Majora’s Mask is a rewarding challenge, even if there isn’t an in-game prize for doing so. This guide will provide you with all the tips and tricks you need to reel in every species lurking in the fishing holes of Termina.

Before diving into specific fish, it’s important to understand a key mechanic for catching the rarer “boss fish”. These special fish seem to have a higher chance of appearing after you’ve had a successful “fishing session”. A successful session means catching most, if not all, of the common fish in a fishing hole. While not definitively confirmed, engaging in multiple fishing sessions might further increase the spawn rate of these elusive creatures.

Therefore, a recommended strategy is to dedicate your first in-game day or two to actively fishing and catching as many common fish as possible. Then, on the third day (or subsequent days), repeatedly enter and exit the fishing area until the specific rare fish you’re hunting for finally appears.

Running low on Rupees? Don’t forget to grab the two silver rupees hidden in Clock Town. One is located in the Bomber’s hideout, accessible by bombing the wall to the left of the canal (beware of the Skulltula!). The other is on the rooftops of East Clock Town, at the southern end. These rupees can help fund your lure purchases and fishing expeditions.
