If you’re looking for an efficient way to convert your surplus materials into useful items for character and weapon progression, the Parametric Transformer is your answer. It’s essentially a magical recycling machine, turning your trash into treasure!
How to Get the Parametric Transformer
To unlock the Parametric Transformer, you need to complete the Tianqiu Treasure Trail quest. This quest becomes available once you reach Adventure Rank 31 or higher.
Initiate the quest by speaking to Lan, who can be found next to the Adventurers’ Guild booth in Liyue Harbor. Accepting her request will set you on the path to unlock this handy gadget.
Why Use the Parametric Transformer?
Absolutely! Utilizing the Parametric Transformer is highly recommended for any Genshin Impact player. The game often showers you with items, many of which you might find yourself overstocked on. Even if you’re not an avid forager, you can easily acquire inexpensive materials from General Goods stores to fuel the Transformer.
The primary benefit of the Parametric Transformer is its ability to convert these otherwise superfluous items into essential materials for character and weapon enhancement. This can significantly reduce your reliance on spending precious Resin for these resources, making your gameplay more efficient and resource-savvy.
How to Operate the Parametric Transformer
Step-by-Step Guide to Transmutation
Deploying the Parametric Transformer
First, access your Inventory and navigate to the Gadget tab. Locate the Parametric Transformer and select “Use” to place it in the open world. Ensure you are in a suitable outdoor location as it cannot be deployed indoors or in domains. Once deployed, interact with the Transformer to begin the transmutation process.

To initiate transmutation, you need to feed items into the Parametric Transformer until you reach a total Quality of 150. Each item contributes to the Quality based on its rarity. Higher rarity items provide more Quality, but it’s generally more efficient to use lower rarity items which are often in abundance.
For optimal use, we advise using Common (Gray) items as fuel. Uncommon (Green) items offer the same Quality value as Common items, making them equally efficient for this purpose. Rarer items (Blue and Purple) are generally more valuable when used for their intended purposes, such as character or weapon ascension, or crafting.
Consider using easily replenishable resources, such as items purchased from General Goods stores. While this will cost you some Mora, the return in valuable resources from the transmutation process is usually well worth the investment.
Charging the Parametric Transformer with Elemental Attacks
Once you’ve loaded items into the Parametric Transformer, you need to charge it using Elemental Attacks. Any elemental attack will work, making characters with elemental skills or bursts suitable for this task. However, Catalyst users are particularly efficient due to their ability to consistently apply elemental damage with their normal attacks.
Continue attacking the Parametric Transformer with elemental attacks until it reaches 100% charge. The charging process is visually indicated by the gadget’s energy build-up and on-screen progress.
Parametric Transformer Cooldown Period
After claiming your rewards, the Parametric Transformer enters a cooldown period of seven real-world days. This means you can only use the Parametric Transformer once per week. Keep this cooldown in mind when planning your resource transmutation schedule.
