For years, like many dedicated fans, I’ve been deeply immersed in the world of Saturday Night Live (SNL). As “Stooge,” a long-time enthusiast, I previously engaged with the show by writing traditional reviews of each new episode shortly after it aired. However, I’m thrilled to embark on a different journey: the “One SNL a Day” project. Think of this as your comprehensive Snl Episode Guide, where we explore the show’s vast history in chronological order, starting from the very first episode.
This isn’t just about watching SNL episodes; it’s about experiencing the show’s evolution firsthand. By delving into one episode each day, we’ll witness the incredible transformations SNL has undergone, season by season. My hope is that this immersive approach will offer fresh perspectives on different eras of the show, perhaps even reshaping my previous opinions and yours.
Inspiration for this ambitious project comes from The Wicker Breaker, who has been diligently posting about one SNL episode a day chronologically since January 2017. His dedication sparked the idea to create this SNL episode guide in a similar format.
What can you expect from this SNL episode guide project? My aim is to provide daily insights and reviews as we journey through SNL history. While life can be unpredictable and may occasionally interrupt the daily schedule, I am committed to making this a consistent, ongoing exploration.
This project officially began on June 27, 2018, and my initial phase concluded on April 13, 2021. Although I didn’t quite reach the goal of catching up to the most recently aired episode at that time, the project’s spirit continues. Thanks to the incredible community in the comments section, volunteers have stepped up to keep the SNL episode guide alive by reviewing the episodes I had planned to cover.
