Dear California Voter,

Every election is important. Your participation in each election is essential for a thriving democracy. As a registered voter in California, you have a significant opportunity in the upcoming November 5, 2024, General Election to vote for elected officials at all levels of government. You can also directly influence state and local policies by voting on state ballot propositions and local measures.

This Voter Information Guide is designed to assist you in making informed decisions about the statewide candidates and issues that will be on the November 5th ballot. Inside, you will find crucial details regarding when and where you can cast your vote, information on the United States Senate races, state ballot propositions, and an overview of your rights as a California voter.

To enhance voter accessibility, California offers multiple days and methods for voting in the upcoming election! Here are important dates and voting options to keep in mind:

By October 7, 2024, every registered voter in California will receive their official ballot for the 2024 Election in the mail.

  • You can return your ballot by mail using the prepaid envelope provided. Ensure your mail-in ballot is postmarked on or before Election Day, November 5, 2024, and received by your county elections office within 7 days of Election Day.
  • Early voting begins on October 7, 2024. County elections officials provide early voting opportunities at their offices, and many counties also offer additional early voting locations leading up to Election Day.
  • Official ballot drop-off locations will open no later than October 8, 2024.
  • In Voter’s Choice Act counties, you can return your ballot or vote in person at designated vote centers starting October 26, 2024.
  • Election Day is November 5, 2024, and it is the final day to vote in the General Election.

Plan Your Vote – Decide whether you will vote by mail, drop off your ballot at a secure drop-off location, or vote in person at a local polling place or vote center.
