To enhance accessibility and convenience in this election, California provides multiple days and methods for voting. Here are key dates and voting options to keep in mind:
Ballots Mailed to Every Registered Voter: Counties across California will mail every registered voter their official ballot for the 2024 General Election starting by October 7, 2024.
- Return Your Ballot by Mail: You can easily return your ballot using the provided postage-paid envelope. Ensure your ballot is postmarked on or before Election Day, November 5, 2024, and received by your county elections office within 7 days after Election Day.
- Early Voting Begins: Early voting locations will open starting October 7, 2024. Contact your county elections office to find early voting locations and hours, as many counties offer multiple locations for early in-person voting.
- Official Ballot Drop Boxes Open: Secure ballot drop-off locations will be available no later than October 8, 2024. These drop boxes provide a safe and convenient way to return your ballot before Election Day.
- Vote Centers Open in Voter’s Choice Act Counties: In counties participating in the Voter’s Choice Act, vote centers will open starting October 26, 2024. These centers allow you to vote in person, drop off your ballot, and receive assistance.
- Election Day: November 5, 2024, is the final day to cast your ballot in the General Election. Polling places and vote centers will be open throughout the day.
