Within this guide, you will find crucial details about election dates, where and when to vote, information on the United States Senate races, comprehensive explanations of state ballot propositions, and a clear outline of your rights as a voter in California.

To enhance accessibility and convenience in this election, California provides multiple days and methods for voting. Here are key dates and voting options to keep in mind:

Ballots Mailed to Every Registered Voter: Counties across California will mail every registered voter their official ballot for the 2024 General Election starting by October 7, 2024.

  • Return Your Ballot by Mail: You can easily return your ballot using the provided postage-paid envelope. Ensure your ballot is postmarked on or before Election Day, November 5, 2024, and received by your county elections office within 7 days after Election Day.
  • Early Voting Begins: Early voting locations will open starting October 7, 2024. Contact your county elections office to find early voting locations and hours, as many counties offer multiple locations for early in-person voting.
  • Official Ballot Drop Boxes Open: Secure ballot drop-off locations will be available no later than October 8, 2024. These drop boxes provide a safe and convenient way to return your ballot before Election Day.
