Continue using Wild Experimentation until your experimentation results in a hazardous outcome. This outcome, indicated by health loss and being thrown back, is triggered randomly, typically within 1-6 casts.
Upon experiencing your first hazardous outcome, you will learn the recipe for Meticulous Experimentation.
Further Recipe Discovery
Keep using Wild Experimentation until you encounter a hazardous outcome again. The chance of discovering new recipes through Wild Experimentation is relatively low, while the probability of a hazardous outcome is quite high. This means you might experience a hazardous outcome fairly quickly, possibly even on your first attempt.
It’s important to note that there’s a chance you might not discover any new recipes during this process.
This second hazardous outcome will inflict the Recent Catastrophe debuff, preventing further experimentation for 15 minutes.
The only method to remove this debuff is by consuming Formulated Courage. You can learn the recipe for Formulated Courage by investing 30 knowledge points into the Alchemical Mastery specialization.
Leveling from 30 to 60
The most economical approach for leveling from 30 to 60 is utilizing Meticulous Experimentation. This method is cost-effective to craft, provides 5 skill points per craft, and offers a higher chance of discovering new recipes compared to Wild Experimentation. However, Meticulous Experimentation has a 1-day cooldown.
Meticulous Experimentation is a valuable technique to incorporate into your daily routine, as it is the most effective way to discover new potent potions.
Therefore, unless you are in a rush to reach skill level 100, crafting 5x Meticulous Experimentation daily is recommended until it ceases to grant multiple skill points around level 60.
Alternative Leveling Methods (30-60)
If you prefer not to wait for the daily cooldown of Meticulous Experimentation, these alternative methods can accelerate your leveling process.
Crafting Discovered Potions, Flasks, and Phials
If your experimentation has yielded recipes for useful Flasks, Phials, or Potions, crafting these can be a viable leveling strategy. Initially, it is advisable to craft a small batch of each to assess their marketability on the Auction House.
If you observe strong sales, focus on crafting the item that maximizes your profit or minimizes your gold loss. Be aware that some potions may sell for less than the cost of their materials, potentially leading to no profit or even a loss.
Thaumaturgy Specialization (up to level 50)
The Thaumaturgy specialization unlocks the Thaumaturgy ability. This ability allows you to transmute 20 materials of your choice into approximately 10-12 different materials and 1-2 Transmutagen.
For example, using Thaumaturgy on 20x Mycobloom could potentially yield 5x Storm Dust, 6x Bismuth, and 1-2x Ominous Transmutagen.

Leveling from 60 to 100
Crafting Flasks or Potions becomes the most effective method for leveling Alchemy from 60 to 100. If you haven’t yet discovered any Flask recipes, consult the alternative recipes section below.
Meticulous Experimentation will remain “yellow” (providing skill points) all the way to level 100. Therefore, it’s recommended to continue crafting this daily, at minimum, until you discover a Flask recipe.
Flask Crafting (60-100)
Flasks offer a guaranteed 2 skill points per craft until skill level 90, at which point they turn “yellow.” They remain “yellow” until level 100, continuing to provide skill points.
Flask of Saving Graces is an exception, granting only 1 skill point per craft, requiring you to craft more for the same skill gain.
