WoW Classic Enchanting Leveling Guide (1-300)

This WoW Classic Enchanting Leveling Guide is designed to provide you with the most efficient and straightforward path to max out your Enchanting skill, from level 1 all the way to 300.

If you’re still considering a complementary profession, Enchanting pairs exceptionally well with Tailoring. These professions are self-sufficient, meaning you don’t need a gathering profession to support them. Plus, Enchanting allows you to disenchant items crafted through Tailoring, turning them into valuable materials. If Tailoring interests you, be sure to check out our Classic Tailoring leveling guide.

For players still on their leveling journey or starting a new character, Zygor’s 1-60 Leveling Guide is an invaluable resource. It will significantly accelerate your progress to level 60.

Finding Classic Enchanting Trainers

To begin your Enchanting journey and become an Apprentice Enchanter, you must reach level 5 and locate an Enchanting trainer.

Click on any of the links below to pinpoint the exact location of trainers. Alternatively, you can ask any guard in a major city for directions to the Enchanting trainer; their location will be marked with a red flag on your map.

Horde Enchanting Trainers

Alliance Enchanting Trainers

Leveling Enchanting in Classic WoW (1-300)

Apprentice Enchanting (1-50)

  • 2-50: Disenchant green quality items, which is often the most cost-effective method if you are leveling Tailoring or have access to cheap green items from dungeons or the Auction House. Alternatively, craft the following enchant:

This recipe is available from most Enchanting trainers and provides a solid way to start leveling your skill using readily available Strange Dust.

Journeyman Enchanting (Requires 75 Enchanting)

To progress beyond Enchanting level 75, you need to become a Journeyman Enchanter. This requires finding an Expert Enchanter, as not all trainers offer this advanced skill level. You must be at least level 10 to learn Journeyman Enchanting.

You can learn Journeyman Enchanting from these NPCs:

Horde Trainers:

Alliance Trainers:

Journeyman Enchanting (50-110)

  • 50-90: Continue disenchanting green items or crafting Enchant Bracer: Minor Health if you have a surplus of Strange Dust.

  • 90-100: 10x Enchant Bracer: Minor Stamina – 30 Strange Dust

This enchant uses the same Strange Dust and offers a slight variation to keep leveling.

  • 101-110: 9x Greater Magic Wand – 9 Simple Wood, 9 Greater Magic Essence

Switching to crafting wands can be a good option if you can acquire Greater Magic Essence at a reasonable price. Simple Wood is easily obtainable from vendors.

Expert Enchanting (Requires 125 Enchanting)

To become an Expert Enchanter and train beyond level 125, you must reach level 20 and have an Enchanting skill of 125. There is only one Expert Enchanting trainer per faction.

  • Alliance Trainer: Kitta Firewind in Elwynn Forest, located at the top of the Tower of Azora.
  • Horde Trainer: Hgarth in Stonetalon Mountains at Sun Rock Retreat. He is situated on a hill accessible via a steep, less obvious path.

Expert Enchanting (110-135)

Acquire these limited-supply recipes from vendors Kulwia (Horde) in Stonetalon Mountains, or Dalria (Alliance) in Ashenvale: Formula: Enchant Bracer – Lesser Strength and Formula: Enchant Cloak – Minor Agility.

These recipes have a limited supply and respawn approximately every 30-50 minutes if bought by another player.

  • 110-135: 25x Enchant Cloak: Minor Agility – 25 Lesser Astral Essence

This recipe is generally efficient if Lesser Astral Essence is reasonably priced on your server.

Alternative Recipe (110-135)

If Lesser Astral Essence is expensive, consider this alternative if Small Glimmering Shards are more affordable:

  • 28x Enchant 2H Weapon – Minor Impact – 112 Strange Dust, 28 Small Glimmering Shard

This recipe uses Strange Dust, which you should have in abundance, and Small Glimmering Shards, which might be cheaper than Lesser Astral Essence depending on your server’s economy.

Expert Enchanting (135-156)

Expert Enchanting (156-185)

Alternative Recipe (165-185)

If Lesser Mystic Essence is significantly cheaper than Soul Dust, switch to this recipe around level 165:

  • 20x Enchant Bracer: Spirit – 20 Lesser Mystic Essence

This is a viable alternative to conserve Soul Dust if Lesser Mystic Essences are more economical.

Expert Enchanting (185-225)

Artisan Enchanting (Requires 200 Enchanting)

To become an Artisan Enchanter and train past 225, you need to be level 35 and have an Enchanting skill of 200. Annora in Uldaman is the only trainer who can teach you Artisan Enchanting.

Annora teaches several recipes exclusive to her, so it’s highly recommended to bring enough gold to learn all recipes and sufficient enchanting materials to reach Enchanting level 250 during your trip to Uldaman. This will save you a return trip later for higher-level recipes.

Expect to spend approximately 11.79 gold to learn all recipes from Annora, and around 200 Vision Dust should be enough to get you to Enchanting 250.

How to Get to Uldaman

The Uldaman instance is located in the Badlands. For the quickest access to Annora, use the back entrance.

Reaching Annora at level 35 solo can be challenging. Consider forming a group or asking a level 60 player for assistance.

Annora’s Location Inside Uldaman

Annora will only appear after you eliminate all enemies in her immediate area! Clear the surrounding mobs to make her spawn.

Artisan Enchanting (225-300)

Artisan Enchanting (225-250)

Remember to learn all available recipes from Annora before leaving Uldaman!

Keep an eye on the Auction House for Formula: Enchant Bracer – Greater Stamina. This world drop recipe is excellent for leveling Enchanting from 245 to 265 or even up to 285, if available at a good price.

Artisan Enchanting (250-265)

Season of Discovery Alternative Recipe (250-265)

If you are playing Season of Discovery Phase 3 and Kania is unavailable, use this alternative:

  • 17x Enchant Bracer – Greater Strength – 34 Dream Dust, 17 Greater Nether Essence

This recipe provides a viable alternative in the absence of the Lesser Mana Oil vendor, utilizing Dream Dust and Greater Nether Essence.

Artisan Enchanting (265-294)

Artisan Enchanting (294-295)

  • 294-295: 1x Runed Arcanite Rod – 1 Arcanite Rod, 1 Golden Pearl, 10 Illusion Dust, 4 Greater Eternal Essence, 4 Small Brilliant Shard, 2 Large Brilliant Shard

Formula: Runed Arcanite Rod is sold by Lorelae Wintersong in Moonglade at Nighthaven. Purchase the next recipe from her as well before leaving Moonglade.

Artisan Enchanting (295-300)

Alternatively, you can continue crafting Enchant Shield: Greater Stamina if you have an abundance of Dream Dust, or if Illusion Dust is prohibitively expensive on your server.

Congratulations on reaching Enchanting skill level 300!
