The Army Green Service Uniform (AGSU), often referred to as “Pink and Greens,” is a new uniform being introduced. As the Army finalizes the official regulations for its wear, interim guidance is necessary to ensure uniformity and proper appearance for soldiers who already possess the uniform. This guide, provided by conduct.edu.vn, outlines the currently published directives as of September 30, 2020, acting as a temporary Agsu Wear Guide Pdf in text format until the official documentation is released. This information is based on the latest available details and will be updated to reflect the finalized Army guidelines in due course.
Key Aspects of AGSU Wear – Provisional Guidance
While awaiting the comprehensive AGSU wear guide PDF, soldiers should adhere to the following interim guidelines for proper uniform appearance.
Badge and Finish Guidelines
When wearing badges on the AGSU coat, maintain uniformity in finish. Soldiers must choose either oxidized or silver finish badges and ensure all badges worn are of the same finish. Mixing oxidized and silver finish badges on the AGSU is not authorized.
Nameplate Policy
Currently, nameplates are not authorized for wear on either the AGSU coat or shirts. This policy is in place until further official guidance is issued within the finalized AGSU wear guide PDF.
Female AGSU Coat Specifics
The female AGSU coat is designed with pocket flaps instead of functional pockets. Consequently, the placement of insignia on the female coat will follow male uniform standards to maintain a consistent and professional appearance across all soldiers.
Identification Badge Limitations
To maintain a neat and orderly display, soldiers are limited to wearing no more than one identification badge per pocket on the AGSU coat.
Combat, Special Skills, and Marksmanship Badges
The wear of combat and special skills badges, including marksmanship badges, is restricted to a maximum of four badges in total. Within this limit, no more than three marksmanship awards can be worn simultaneously. Badges should be positioned 1/4 inch above ribbons or the pocket flap. Alternatively, badges can be worn below the ribbons, placed 1/4 inch below the top of the pocket flap.
Special Skill Tabs
Soldiers are authorized to wear a maximum of two special skill tabs from group 4 (sewn-on). These tabs are to be sewn onto the left sleeve, positioned 1/2 inch below the shoulder seam. The Soldier Sleeve Insignia (SSI) will be placed 1/4 inch below any special skill tabs.
Unit Awards
The AGSU uniform permits the wear of either permanently awarded unit awards or temporary unit awards. However, mixing permanently awarded and temporary unit awards is not authorized; soldiers must choose one type to wear.
Neckwear
Both male and female soldiers are required to wear Four-In-Hand neckties with the AGSU.
Soldier Sleeve Insignia (SSI) Placement
The Soldier Sleeve Insignia (SSI) is to be sewn on the left sleeve of the AGSU coat, centered 1/2 inch below the shoulder seam.
SSI for Former Wartime Service
For soldiers authorized to wear the SSI for former wartime service, it should be sewn on the right sleeve, also positioned 1/2 inch below the shoulder seam of the coat. It’s important to note that the combat service identification badge is not authorized for wear on the AGSU coat.
Regimental Distinctive Insignia (RDI)
Regimental Distinctive Insignia (RDI) is worn on the right side of the AGSU coat, centered 1/8 inch above the pocket flap or 1/4 inch above any unit award or foreign badges. If the coat lapel obscures the RDI, it may be aligned to the right edge of the unit awards for better visibility.
Class B AGSU (Shirt) Guidelines
Currently, no badges or accouterments are authorized for wear on the Class B AGSU shirt. Additionally, U.S. and branch insignia are not authorized on the Class B AGSU. For further clarification, it is advisable to refer to the existing guidelines for the Army Service Uniform (ASU) as published in the UNIFORM GUIDE, until more specific direction is provided in the official AGSU wear guide PDF.
Staying Updated
This interim guidance serves as a temporary AGSU wear guide PDF in text format. For the most comprehensive and up-to-date regulations, soldiers are encouraged to consult the forthcoming official AGSU wear guide PDF and check with their local on-base Military Clothing Sales Store (MCSS) for the next edition of the Army UNIFORM GUIDE, which will include the finalized guidelines.
