Once Human Prime War Guide: Dominate Endgame PVE Events

Prime Wars in Once Human are large-scale Public Player versus Environment (PVE) events designed for groups. While not the ultimate endgame activity, they are crucial for acquiring valuable resources to enhance your endgame builds. Participating in Prime Wars is highly recommended for all players, but tackling them solo can be challenging. Forming a Warband in Once Human is advisable for smoother runs. Before your first Prime War attempt, here’s a comprehensive guide to prepare you.

Unlocking and Initiating Prime Wars

Prime Wars automatically become available once your server progresses to its second phase in Once Human. This unlock condition is currently set for Season 1 and might be subject to change in future seasons. Prime Wars are easily spotted on the world map, marked by prominent Staroid Restrainer icons, nearly as large as Monolith icons when zoomed out.

To initiate a Prime War, travel to a marked location and locate the Staroid Restrainer, a beacon-like device within the area. Interacting with it will display a menu outlining the rewards and the primary enemy, typically an enhanced version of a Once Human Monolith boss. Starting a Prime War requires Staroid, a material commonly found in loot crates or through completing commissions.

Any player on the server can initiate a Prime War. Once started, other players can directly teleport to the event location via the map screen, facilitating easy participation.

Prime War Difficulty Tiers

Prime Wars feature four difficulty levels: Easy, Hard, Pro, and Nightmare. Initially, only Easy Prime Wars are accessible. To unlock subsequent tiers, you must achieve a maximum rating in all Prime Wars of the current tier. Progression through these difficulties escalates the challenge and rewards.

Prime War Objectives Explained

The core objective in any Prime War is straightforward: defeat the oversized boss, defend against waves of standard enemies, and ensure the survival of the Staroid Resonator. While regular enemies pose a manageable threat, Prime War bosses are heavily shielded. To break these shields, explosives are essential, such as those deployed by Gatling Cannons in Once Human. Gatling Cannons are arguably the most effective weapons for Prime Wars, and players can construct fortifications around the Restrainer to enhance defense.

Equip your Gatling Cannons with Biomass Missiles to consistently target the boss. Simultaneously, assign players to guard the Staroid Resonator from enemy waves. Building walls and defensive structures around the Resonator can significantly simplify defense efforts.

Prime War Rewards and Loot

Successfully completing a Prime War grants loot crates that may contain valuable weapons, modifications, and essential materials. Earning a higher final rating in the event rewards you with additional, superior-quality crates. Rating points are accumulated by performing actions such as healing allies and inflicting damage on the boss. Achieving the maximum rating in a Prime War ensures you receive all available loot boxes. The score needed for maximum rating starts at 800 on Easy mode and increases with difficulty.

Furthermore, your first completion of each Prime War difficulty grants Starchrom, a crucial currency for Once Human’s Wish Machine. Gear obtained from the Wish Machine often forms the backbone of endgame builds. To optimize your loadout, accumulating Starchrom through Prime Wars is vital.
