Exciting Horizons for Preservation Evoker in The War Within
The War Within expansion brings a breath of fresh air to Preservation Evoker, introducing diverse playstyle options through Hero Talents. These talents completely revitalize the spec, offering new avenues for gameplay. You’ll be able to choose between Chronowarden, which amplifies the beloved aspects of Dragonflight Preservation, or the currently favored Flameshaper. Flameshaper allows for ramp setups reminiscent of Discipline Priests, adding a new strategic layer to the specialization.
Key Changes for Preservation Evoker
Let’s break down the significant changes impacting Preservation Evoker in recent patches and the upcoming expansion.
11.0.7 Preservation Updates
Patch 11.0.7 brought minimal class adjustments for Preservation Evoker, with the notable addition of Cyrce’s Circlet. This new ring quickly became BiS (Best in Slot) for all Evokers. We will delve into gemming strategies for this ring in the gearing section below.
The War Within Expansion Overhaul
The War Within expansion brings substantial changes, most notably: Evokers now begin at level 10 (previously level 58), and the restriction of one Evoker per realm has been lifted. These changes, implemented with the pre-patch, mean a wider array of spells will be accessible at earlier levels. Beyond this, both the class and specialization talent trees have undergone revisions.
Important Class Tree Modifications
Several key adjustments have been made to the Evoker class tree:
- Spatial Paradox: This talent has moved to the class tree from Augmentation and now has a 3-minute cooldown, increased from 2 minutes. It is now presented as a choice node.
- Landslide: The root duration of Landslide has been reduced to 15 seconds from 30 seconds.
- Oppressing Roar: The cone radius of Oppressing Roar has been expanded to 60 degrees, up from 45 degrees.
- Overawe: Overawe now grants a baseline cooldown reduction of 30 seconds, changing from a reduction based on the number of enrages dispelled.
- Panacea: The healing provided by Panacea has been reduced by 50%. It now also heals the Evoker when Verdant Embrace is cast. Panacea is now classified as a Green spell, meaning it benefits from Lush Growth.
Significant Spec Tree Reworks
The Preservation Evoker spec tree has also received key updates:
- New Talent: Lifespark: Reversion healing now has a chance to grant instant-cast Living Flame, and increases its damage and healing by 50%.
- New Talent: Titan’s Gift: Essence Burst now enhances the effectiveness of your next Essence ability by 25%.
- Emerald Blossom: The mana cost of Emerald Blossom has been reduced by 15%.
- Flow State: Flow State can now be triggered by Empower spells cast from Stasis.
- Threads of Fate: Threads of Fate can no longer be triggered by Empower spells cast from Stasis.
- Time of Need: Time of Need now activates at 30% health, increased from 20%.
- Temporal Compression: Temporal Compression now reduces the cast time of Empower spells by 10% per stack, increased from 5%.
These changes collectively reshape the Preservation Evoker playstyle, offering both seasoned players and newcomers exciting new dynamics to explore in The War Within. Dive in, experiment with the new talents, and discover the enhanced potential of Preservation Evoker!
