California makes voting accessible and convenient. To ensure every voice can be heard, you have multiple days and methods to cast your ballot! Here are key dates and voting options to keep in mind:
Ballots Mailed to Every Registered Voter: By October 7, 2024, every registered voter in California will receive their official ballot for the 2024 Election in the mail.

Mail-In Voting: You can return your ballot conveniently by mail using the postage-paid envelope included. Ensure your ballot is postmarked on or before Election Day, November 5, 2024, and received by your county elections office within 7 days after Election Day.

Early Voting: Early voting begins October 7, 2024. County elections offices will offer early voting at their main office, and many counties provide additional early voting locations throughout the county leading up to Election Day for your convenience.

Secure Ballot Drop Boxes: Official ballot drop boxes will be available no later than October 8, 2024. These drop boxes offer a secure and accessible way to return your ballot before Election Day.

Vote Centers: In Voter’s Choice Act counties, vote centers will open starting October 26, 2024. You can vote in person or drop off your ballot at any vote center in these counties.

Election Day: November 5, 2024, is Election Day, the final day to cast your ballot in the General Election. Polling places and vote centers will be open for in-person voting.

Track Your Ballot: For peace of mind and to confirm your ballot has been received, sign up for ballot tracking at WheresMyBallot.sos.ca.gov. Receive automatic notifications by text, email, or voice about the status of your ballot.
